Currys currently have £50 off all Phillips TV's with the code 'PHILTV50' this seems like the best deal to me, the newer model amongst them. £50 cheaper than the previous deal although that was with the 6 years warranty. Definatly not a bad deal at all!

Top features:
- Dive in to your favourite classics with enhanced picture quality
- Ambilight brings a bit of the cinema to your living room
- Smart TV offers a wealth of catch-up TV and streaming
- DTS HD Sound lets you hear all the action clearly

Dive in to your favourite classics
The Philips 50PUS6703/12 50" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV uses 4K Ultra HD technology to deliver stunning picture quality up to four times the resolution of conventional Full HD. Additionally, Ultra Resolution Upscaling technology improves the quality of the image on the screen regardless of the original content. This means you can rewatch your favourite oldies as if they were just released today. HDR Plus technology broadens the colour range in your TV and enhances the details of the picture, so whether it's forest greens or ocean blues, you can get the most out of those breath-taking BBC nature documentaries.

Ambilight
Set the mood with the Philips 50PUS6703 TV's intelligent Ambilight feature. LED lights are placed around the edge of the TV to offer you a fully-immersive experience. The colours on the screen expand outside of the TV to make it look bigger, so that you can feel like you're in the cinema while you're relaxing at home.

Smart TV
Saphi Smart TV gives you complete freedom while choosing what you want to
watch. Enjoy streaming your favourite movies and box sets through Netflix and Amazon Prime.Freeview Play lets you catch-up on your favourite shows that you missed last week straight from the TV guide. All for no extra cost.

DTS HD Sound
Enjoy crystal-clear sound thanks to DTS HD Sound. This technology preserves the original sound content so you can hear your favourite action sequences like you're right there on set.

Effortless installation
For setup without the squabbles, our Team Knowhow experts can connect your new TV to your Blu-ray player, sound bar, and other devices. They'll even get you online so you can put your feet up and start watching straight away. Pass the popcorn.

Essential extras
Want your TV wall mounted? No problem. We've got brackets that tilt, swivel, or fix your TV in place for the best viewing spot in the house. Alternatively, browse our range of TV stands – we've got enough designs to keep even the pickiest interior designer happy. Avoid the disappointment of getting your shiny new telly home and realising you don't have the cable you need to connect your games console or Blu-ray player. Sandstrom Gold Series HDMI cables support all resolutions and come with a reassuring lifetime guarantee.

Where or when do you enter the code please?
Great post BTW!!!
Good TV...
After a 65" 4k, I've seen many what I deem good deals on here and spotted some other deals too but upon reading the comments and reviews they are always conflicting... I personally like to be future proof for a few years, but with TVs I'm lost.

@LOUGHBORO.GUY
It's a 5 star rating by the guys on WhatsHifi and I know that isn't easy to come by, even the reviews on Curry's average at 8.5/10 mate. You can't please everyone!:)

Torn between this and the 55" Hisense A6200 for £429. Previous deal for this TV had a couple of comments about it not being great for gaming which would be a deal breaker if true

What a great price, I don't need another TV until I do the kitchen out which won't be for at least 6 months. Is it worth buying now to store I wonder :/
Is there any difference between this one from Amazon (apart from the stand)...Link

From what I can tell with what we know at the moment you basically can't be fully future proof for a few years with any current tv or probably even any of the 2019 lineup. LGs 2019 oleds are the only ones with full hdmi 2.1 but they don't support HDR10+ I don't think. The Philips 2019 lineup and the Panasonic oled shown at ces support both dolby vision and HDR10+ but dont have full hdmi 2.1.

Basically you can't win because next year maybe they'll have all these but there'll be something else new they don't have.
I just received this tv from richer sounds for £50 more, really impressed after editing the picture using the whathifi review, it made a big difference. It's the first time experienced ambilight and even my girlfriend is impressed, even though she was negative about it because she wanted a sony. For this price point it's a great tv
I have the 43in version of this Tv and i use it as a monitor for my PC for 4k gaming, although i gave up on getting HDR on PC games to work correctly as it always seems to wash out all the colour when on, but i paid £370 at the end of 2016 for it on a xmas sale, so 50in for £20 more is a god deal.

Do you get any vertical banding on yours? I have this EXACT same model expect 55", and the banding (dark vertical stripes, i.e. inconsistent white) is horrific and noticeable. According to Philips (who take months to respond to any support request, it is within limits, which is a right cop out).

Also, if you plug in a computer and switch off COMPUTER mode on the TV, horrific juddering on fast images, if you switch COMPUTER mode on, you get such a duller picture and seriously less sharp. So can't win either way.

I have only tried with Xbox one x and a virgin media box, but I haven't seen anything like that. Whathifi gave a couple of tips to improve picture, disable eco mode, noise reduction off, contrast mode: optimized for picture, also using movie mode. Other than that I believe it could be faulty because right now I would say the picture is outstanding

No, don't bother buying now. I'm at the end of an 8 month build. Bought the sofa early on, wish I hadn't bothered. Didn't buy a tv as nowhere to put it. So glad, there's been at least 4 breathtaking deals a month. I was gutted when I missed the Samsung store deal, but deals are still coming, and that deal seems like a long time ago. Even a deal I posted on TVs is now mildly unattractive.

I've been through definitely wanting a 65 inch Samsung to completely discounting it now. Neither do I want a Hisense, which I was happy with 3 months ago. I decided a month ago I wanted a 50 inch Philips ambilight, but it has to be from Richer Sounds. Who knows what tomorrow will bring...

nah from £450, and then add the coupon for £50 off.

You DO know your meant to then adjust the colour, brightness, colour etc etc on these modes to adjust the picture to suit your preference??
The modes are only in effect a starting point.

Um, the PUS6703 is a late 2018 range / model - you definitely got the same model?
Sorry, i meant the whole Ambilight model thing, not the model number type, my fault, i thought i had put in ambilight in my post.

Is this model compatible with a vesa mounting bracket?
The 50" is a 200mm x 200mm mount with M6 15mm max depth screws - can confirm from experience

Sending my 50PUS6753 back due to vertical banding and dirty screen effect. Catch up services frequently don't work. Optical out and HDMI out for surround do not work, possibly just my set. Slow menus. Poor EPG. Poorly designed remote.

Hoping the replacement 49PUS7503 I have ordered will be better, if not I'll be avoiding Philips from then on.

I agree. One disgruntled customer who doesn't know how to set up a TV and/or doesn't know anything beyond terrestrial TV is not a valid review.

Yeah. I made the mistake believing the fact my TV has Dolby Vision HDR10 and splendid onboard speakers made it plentiful with the 4K but beyond anything that's completely 4K it's shockingly bad to watch.. there's absolutely no upscaling built into it and even on the 4k stuff it lacks clarity beyond belief.

If I'd stuck to my guns rather than going for the cheapest most cheerful price - but I didn't. I got more joy out of a £40 projector off Amazon that only displays HD through a 480x800 resolution (not HD obviously) but the colours are immense on it in comparison to the fancy 4k TV.

Ironically my old Samsung still looks better than the new telly as it's a 48" with quad refresh rates and the picture is ridiculously crisp!
Will Richer Sounds price match on this or will the lack of 'comparable guarantee' void it?

Thank you, I've set up a key word alert now. Doing some searches are they are some amazing margins. Will keep my eyes open closer to the time.

Yes I did the same and during Jan/Dec ‘tv’ notifications were hukcrazy!

Yup, it's fab, and even better if you have hue lights, also, if you press the ambilight button on the remote when the TV is off, it allows you to scroll though the colours on the led strip, which also links into the hue bulbs, creating a nice ambiance effect.
