This has been much cheaper, £329 in May, under £300 in March/April briefly.

I bought the 55” version for £369 a couple of weeks ago, from AO on an eBay code.

For the same price you can also pick up the Hisense 55” A6200 from AO, Amazon, Currys etc. Has decent reviews for the price range.

The deal is for a good TV in my opinion, but I’d be holding out for a better price or choosing something bigger and equivalent quality for the same price.

What's your opinion of Ambilight, is it worth the £80? Thanks

I think its worth it, plus one can add Hue lights (or equivalent) to further.enhance the effect to the whole room (2nd video):

Sorry but you can't compare prices with an eBay code, as no one would ever post a deal based on the fact there may be an ebay code.

Its unrealistic to think that way, and so your comment is a bit moot.

50” Version of the Hisense A6200 is £299 with 6 year warranty, so unless you desperately need/want ambilight, save yourself £80 and take comfort from the extra guarantee period.

love the ambilight on this. It definitley isnt a premium set, has a few issues with certain pictures and flicker if the picture is too sharp, mine sometimes causes the sky to flicker in the background of programmes, which is unusual. Looks like lightning on most occasions!

its a decent price for this tv - its a step up from the budget tvs. From my experience it is worth the premium. Richer Sounds sell it for £399 with a 6 year warranty, which for me is a better deal. Maybe they will even price match it.

Paid £8 more for the 55" last week. Respectfully disagree about the eBay code not being part of deals, this TV range was specifically called out in a deal thread when the PAPA10 code was out last week.

Good TV , wall mounted ours yesterday, now I need to change the settings.

Seems it's now a race between it being discontinued / how cheap it can go.

It doesn't have bluetooth or any difference in HDMI sorry, have a look at the two user manuals on the Philips site. This came up on the 65" thread late last week. The stand/colour are the differences, in spite of what one TV comparison site says

Re: HDMI, you may want to consider the devices you're plugging in. I have an AV receiver and very limited HDR equipment (I don't believe my Fire TV gen 2 box supports HDR, and only supports 4k @ 30hz. The Virgin V6 box may support a little bit more).

Point being:

HDMI 1: ARC and 4k @ up to 30hz
HDMI 2 & 3: 4k @ up to 60hz, but no ARC support.

Spot the obvious problem if you're running a receiver, planning to use the inbuilt tuner or apps, and want to watch 60hz 4k content from devices plugged into the receiver. As a compromise I've plugged my HDMI into HDMI2, and run an optical cable from the TV to the receiver.

Of course the ebay code is part of deals, I love it when they come along, but you can't say this item was cheaper last week because ebay had a 15% code on, who knows if we'll ever get one again. It's just a pointless argument in all honesty.
Everything is cheaper with an eBay code is what I'm saying.

I get your point but a quick search on 'Ambilight' on this site shows that this/the 6703 are like a tub of Pringles or a DFS sofa. They're on offer more often than they're not and it seems the only way for the price is down, until all stock is gone. If you need one this week then fair enough, but it'll be on offer from one of Currys, Argos, AO, eBay or Richer Sounds again by the end of the month.

(Though AO pulled a dirty trick for the eBay promo and withdrew all eBay stock of the 7383 for the duration of the offer )
