Also people are saying different panel on smaller screens and no issues with blacks yet this apparently does yet apparently has a better panel? I've never owned a TV with this panel/light setup and I've always had issues with blacks, if this is worse then I certainly will cancel the order

I’m taking delivery of mine in about 30 minutes from the Amazon Deal the other day so I’ll update you. The Phillips 2018 models are all direct LED rather than edge so contrast and blacks should be good

That's really cheap. I decided that I really should have bought the 65" when it was on a lightning deal the other day - about an hour after it went OOS. But at this price, this will be perfectly acceptable to replace our eight year old electricity hungry, but still brilliant, Panasonic plasma in the living room for day to day viewing. I can put the saved £100s towards a new 4K projector for the "premium" TV lounge. Cheers OP!
Can you connect the Philips hue Bulbs with this?

Can you connect the Philips hue Bulbs with this?

Apparently, from the manual:

"Ambilight + Hue
Configure

(TV
menu)
>

Settings
>
Ambilight
>
Ambilight+hue
> Configure.
Setup your Philips Hue bulbs to follow the colours of
Ambilight.
Switch Off
Switch off Ambilight+hue

(TV
menu) >

Settings > Ambilight > Ambilight+hue > Switch
off.
Immersion

(TV
menu) >

Settings > Ambilight > Ambilight+hue > Immersio
n.
Press the arrows

(up) or

(down) to adjust
how accurate the Hue bulbs follow the Ambilight.
Lounge Light+hue
If you installed Ambilight+hue, you can let the hue
bulbs follow Lounge Light from Ambilight. The Philips
hue lamps will expand the Lounge Light effect across
the room.
Switch on/off the hue bulbs

(TV
menu) >

Settings > Ambilight > Ambilight+hue > Lounge
light+hue.
View Configuration or Reset
View current setup of the Ambilight+hue, network,
Bridge and bulbs

(TV
menu) >

Settings > Ambilight > Ambilight+hue > View
configuration.
Reset current setup of the Ambilight+hue

(TV
menu) >

Settings > Ambilight > Ambilight+hue > Reset
configuration"
Yes. Its the ambi light + settings. You just configure where each bulb is in relation to your tv, and that's it.

I missed that sadly also. Just noticed the other 65 inch (model below) is also out of stock. Sadly my current TV is 65 and I won't get smaller now. Use to the size. Hoping to see that TV again for sale or even better the oled 65. But that's 2,300.
this is hot!!! i've been on the telly hunt, settled for this and was willing to pay more. thrilled about this deal. immediate order.

va panel on everything except the 43"
direct led instead of edge
p5 image processor, highly thought of and pushed this over the similar 6753 for me
sweet remote with qwerty pads on the back
android os also a bit of an upgrade over what's on the 6753

the catch up apps are a bit of a nonstarter for some people but i'm more bothered about image quality and will be providing my own smart box. i believe this doesn't have freeview play either, it's listed as in some places but some reviews contradict this. i'm unsure at this point. if you're not bothered about the software and more bothered about the panel, this is a steal.

I think I read someone say, somewhere, that though some of the catch up services are unavailable, you can install them by downloading the APKs using the web browser. Not sure if that is true, or the ins and outs of it, but there may be ways around the issue. I'm not too bothered either, they are all available on Xbox, I think.
Really want the 55, trying to hold out but this is a very good price although also looking at Samsung nu8000
Can't you just sideload any app you want on the TV that's not officially available? I have a sony Android TV and it's very simple.

Where did you read that the 43" has the IPS panel? I knew that 1 size has IPS but thought it would be the be the 55 or 65" tv.
So what's the real difference with the 50PUS6753/12 Google is not my priend today and couldn't tell from the Phillips site or a comparison site, may be just me

Effectively has the better chipset, P4 which is from philip’s higher end models and has android tv rather than Philips own os.

It’s probably a toss up- I decided for £50ish worth going for the newer model because the new chipset has a lot of good reviews and more likely that android will receives updates into the future

It also means that this has chromecast built-in since its android TV whilst the older model does not. But for some reason it omits the other catchup players since its not freeview play. You could chromecast it but that means you would need another device. The older model has freeview play though

Ahh good tip! Thanks didn’t know that. Sounds worthwhile
Just get a Nvidia shield which will be faster than any tv OS anyway. Full android tv done properly and you can put Kodi on it. Get 2nd hand from CEX.

So going to be the Norm and ask what's this like for gaming? I've read the spec and it seems OK? Looking to pair it with a ps4 Pro and possibly a shield TV.
No Google Play apparently - you have to install apks by allowing 'unkown sources' then placing apks on usb and using a file explore to install - rather annoying, but still decent as long as the stuff I need works (which some tv channel players have been reportedly not - but i dont really use them anyway at least not as tv apps (your blu ray/sky/virgin has most of those. Also can anyone confirm built chromecast? not read it anwhere (actually it may be known as google cast - and it says it has that)

EDIT: Manual says google play and chromecast so all good . Thanks ktek78

Anyone know the Steam Link situation on this thing? Do you just get the Play Store app and it should work?

Heat added.

Just looked at the TV's instruction manual and it looks like there is Google Play and built-in Google Cast.

Yeah I did think about that and banking the cost save but you do also get the better picture processing and it’s one less remote

Maybe I'm nuts but I bought used very good from Amazon warehouse and saved 20%... If this TV is as good as it looks then I've found quite the bargain for £320! 😋

You did well there!
So tempted to pull the trigger on this one.... what's people's thoughts...? Wait it out till Friday?

Could you PM me a link?

There were around 20 of these models on warehouse deals last night (had a very good one on my basket at 1am last night).

Did a search on my phone and pc this morning and they have all disappeared - so if you could pm me the product listing that would be amazing

You tell me tonight's winning lottery numbers, and I'll tell you what price this TV will be on Friday

Seriously, if you are tempted you could buy it now and then cancel and buy it again on Friday if it was cheaper. Earliest shipping is next week.

can always order it and put delivery until after monday, that way they wont take the payment until then and you have time to look at other deals and change your mind
Do people think the 65" of this is going to go on sale this week?
Yeah I saw that... but not as low as £320! Think the ones I saw were closer to 400 so just paid the premium rather than risk a return. Was very tempting though as is a good discount!

Please share a link - nothing has shown on any of my warehouse searches since the deal of the day launched, and the used TV in my basket has been replaced with the new as it is now 'cheaper'.

Thanks

Once you checked out it added the 20% discount which brought it to £320... Another £80 off. I only bought because of the discount as the difference of £50 wouldn't have been worth the risk otherwise. Sure I'll see what I get!
