Immerse yourself in epic action with this 50 inch LED TV from Philips. With a jaw-dropping 4K display, you can be sure that you won’t miss a single detail in the latest blockbusters. It doesn’t even matter if you’re watching a Full HD film, as it has upscaling technology that enhances it to near-4K quality. HDR improves the picture further by increasing the depth of contrast for vivid, lifelike colour. There’s plenty to watch as well, thanks to a brilliant range of smart TV services and Freeview HD channels. This model even features Philips’ unique Ambilight technology, which projects the colours at the edge of the screen onto the wall around it, for an immersive viewing experience.

This TV has some issues. Specifically with the intergration of Google Assitant. My mini can't do things it should be able to do. That being said, I love this TV. The Ambilight is great. Retroarach runs right off the set with roms from a USB stick. The picture is very good, the blacks are deep. Poor app support though, no 4oD, no ITV Player, no Now TV.
I know this TV gets a bad rap for its app support but if you have apps like 4OD and such on your phone, the built in chromecast app will communicate with it and play any programmes you cast.

True, since the apps are available on phones and tablets though, what's the excuse?
whats angled viewing like on the TV?
I'm doing some research looking for a TV, the main two things are picture quality and good angled viewing. Apps wise I'll just get a 4k firestick and put everything on that

It's a VA panel, which means better contrast, black levels and colour, but worse viewing angles.

If you need good viewing angles on a budget, then an IPS panel is required. LG is the brand to go with.

High end QLED VA panels from Samsung have excellent viewing angles, due to a special optical layer, also OLED TV's have great viewing angles.

I agree entirely. I have this TV and I love every minute watching it. The ambilight is beautiful and although correcting the settings can be a full days shift, the picture looks incredible. The lack of built in video apps won't change it's plus points.

Thanks for this - I have an nVidia Shield and that's where all my apps are so, my TV being smart isn't a priority. I do want some good viewing angles though.
