Just got rid of my 7 year old LG 55" HD TV and looking for an upgrade got around £400/450 to spend.

Issues with old one is we didn't have the On Demand for C4 and ITV and Channel 5, I know this one does however seen reviews saying poor UI and crashes a lot.

Anyone got one of these? Or any recommendations of what to get?

Got 50 inch version, the ui is more reliable than the Samsung I had before it. Had few instances where Netflix stopped working but only twice in 8 months of ownership. Is all pretty smooth to be honest

Does it have all the apps it mentions in the description on this post? Seen previous televisions advertising apps which weren't on the smart TV.

Would only buy this if the warranty was more than 2yrs
Any massive difference between this and the richer sounds one? I have 10% off at argos. Any help will be great thanks.
Thanks OP! Amazing deal. I will be returning the similar Richer Sounds deal that is due for delivery today and have reserved this instead. Comparison here from Phillips shows they are pretty much identical, apart from bezel colour.
I have a pixel 3, can I cast directly to this TV? Or is it Miracast (in which case I don't think I can unless I plug in a Chromecast or root my phone)?

Just looked further at the specs, it's Miracast
Any good wall brackets on this?
It says offer ends 24th jan (today) does anyone know if it’s reserved today will they still give out the free sound bar if not collecting until tomorrow?

If anything, this one has better sound enhancements from that comparison? Tempted and includes the soundbar too...

Have you considered a streaming box/stick? I always get the best value TV for its features as a TV as the apps can be had on a wide range of devices (Apple TV/Roku/Firestick).

Yes the will honour the offer, it won’t automatically come up on the till but make sure you reserve the TV & the sound bar and take a screenshot of the offer to shown them when you collect & pay tomorrow.
You could also do fast track (pay online now & collect in store tomorrow).
This or ru7400
I've watched a couple videos and checked through the reviews.. if 50hz doesn't bother you - which tbh the refresh rate for me would preferably be 100hz - buy it. I'm really tempted regardless of the refresh since it looks like a fiercely good picture and the HDR and Dolby seem to do their jobs plus it has HLG which will apparently be used when HDR is available on terrestrial TV. Which seems a big while down the line :/
I got the 50 inch version of this when that was on deal before christmas. Really good tv. Picture is excellent with slight adjustments to picture settings.
Smart tv apps are quick to load and respond. Soundbar good in small to medium sized room. Subwoofer is only small so do not expect large amounts of Bass

I'm not sure if sacrificing the extra 5y warranty is worth it (both TVs appear to be the same price), specially given that the included soundbar had been half price at Argos recently.
Thank you for posting. We have added your thread to the Highlights pages.
Hi. Just got this TV.

Wonder if anyone can help with an issue it has?

Only way so far to get lip sync to be in sync, is to go to the Sky HD sound settings area and toggle HDMI from Dolby D to normal and back. (Don't need to click save settings).

Need to do this each time when changing over channel, otherwise the lip sync is significantly off on whatever next channel is selected. Otherwise so far the TV is good but this is obviously annoying. If setting the HDMI sound setting to normal, the sync is okay when changing channels. However of course the sound has much less quality/punch.

There surely must be a way to fix the issue, as the TV does sync okay when toggling as described above, plus when watching Netflix there is no sync issue. So the TV can do it.

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong and causing this when changing Sky HD+ channels?

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks
Cold I can't get the ambilight on my Sony TV.

I'm not familiar with how to fix this but I think I came across a comment that had similar issue and there was a possibility of the way it was connected that is causing the problem. Use hdmi if you aren't and maybe try a different cable assuming your not using any external speakers. If you are try it without external speakers and with it to see if it's the speakers that has the issue.
I'm not sure on the comparison but my 7304 is incredible for what I paid £469, has everything, even working with XCloud now.
I'm stuck between this and the Samsung RU7100 - I will be using the apps a lot.

What would you recommend?

RU7020 same spec as a RU7100 & it cheaper
Yeah I've just noticed, what would you recommend going for? I know the Samsung UI is really good for the apps etc. But heard mixed reviews on the UI for Philips. However I am really tempted by this along with the soundbar. Plus got 5% off as well!

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.
I am using HDMI and external speakers, however when disconnecting them and only using the TV and it's own speakers it's the same. Toggling works on each different HD channel, non HD channels are pretty spot on in lip sync.
So I am guessing it's either a setting on the TV I need to alter, or maybe it's a compatibility problem with the TV and the Sky HD+ box. Maybe it will work better with Sky Q, but not planning on upgrading soon. Also I have no aerial access, so only have Sky and Netflix to test it with.

maybe try a different hdmi cable. I found this link from Phillips with regards to sync issues. Hope it helps Link

I've also read about issues with Phillips, freezing on the UI, take the deal, you got the warranty, if not happy return & purchase a ru7020 from richer sounds with 6 Yr warranty
Why is this expired when it's still active on the website
I want the sound bar... Do you think I could buy the deal and sell the TV for the deal price?

Here's a question, what's the best way to mount this TV given it has ambilight behind it?

Thanks again very much for this new info. I tried the steps in the link you gave and new HDMI cables, no luck. However if I rewind for a split second it syncs up great. Maybe this info will help anyone else with the same issue. Not ideal, but a workaround for lip sync issues on Sky HD channels. Hopefully somehow someone will discover a permanent fix.

P.S. In case it helps anyone else... I found someone saying they had the same problem with the PUS7334 model. So perhaps a problem across the model range. Although I didn't have this particular problem with the 55PUS6703
Got one, the ambilight you don,t even notice after a day or two, ours won;t update over it,s wi fi, not tried the usb route due to can,t be arsed syndrome. Think the smart operating system could have been done better but you get used to it. We put an Argos Hitachi sound bar on it it does improve the speech audio.
