Philips Ultraslim 4K UHD LED-TV – Powered by Android
Watching tv shows on a grand tv by the Dutch Company Philips, who of us didn't grow up on that in his or her lifetime? One thing is for sure: we certainly did and this Ultra slim 4K (passive) 3D Smart TV brings back memories of a common past but also dreams of a nearby future. Dreams of watching movies and series, accessing online services with the flexibility of Google Android and much more. Do we have your attention yet?

Tip of the iceberg: the Philips 55PUS7909/12 offers you 55 whole inches of pure viewing pleasure in 4K resolution. For reference that is 3840x2160 pixels, 4 times more than a traditional Full HD-TV. And no matter what you watch, in whatever resolution, anything below 4K resolution will automatically be up scaled to 4K quality by the built in Pixel Precise Ultra HD Engine. So even low quality Youtube videos will look good from now on. Better yet, any computer or video source which is connected to the 55PUS7909/12 via one of its HDMI ports will receive upscaling up to 4K resolution.

Not to be confused with the 55PUS7809/12 which doesn't have HDMI 2.0

Has dual Freesat HD tuners and Freeview HD

Comes with 2 year warranty

Looks like a corker of a set!
Yes, it doesn't support hevc but all HDMI's have HDMI 2.0 and 4k at 60hz

    Sounds good to me!
Is this full array or edge led?
I think you need the trifecta of HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2 and HEVC for it to be worth it on a 4K... This doesn't have HEVC decoding

Philips are releasing a UHD 880 media player to solve the problem of HEVC, but given the rest of the specs for this price, I think it offers amazing value for money.
