Richer Sounds are £989 but instore only. So I would go the route of a John Lewis price match with them and pay £19 more for 5 year warranty.
How would this compare to the Panny 55GZ950B?

They must have changed it very recently then, as I ordered this last night on the internet for delivery.

Yeah possibly. Either way, for £19 more, JL or RS would be the way to go.

Unless you excplicitely want Ambilight, the Panny should provide a much more natural image, and handle motion more realistically.

No, I'm referring to richer sounds... you said it was in-store only, which I checked and you are correct, it does say "in-store exclusive" now. But ordered via internet for delivery just 12 hours ago.

Panasonic's image processing is the best on the market and produces by far the most natural image out of the box, making professional calibration less necessary. That's not to say that this is bad though. A lot of people probably wouldn't even notice the difference without seeing both TVs in the flesh, and Ambilight is a cool feature.

How much did you get it for? Looks like it was £969 recently but it's no longer available at that price from RS

I agree with what you're saying about the warranty, it's worth spending that bit extra for it

hotukdeals.com/dea…032
Yep, paid £969 with the code TV20, but then paid for next day delivery as I can't stand waiting around for stuff, LOL - So basically got around £5 off after paying for delivery... which is OK by me. It's coming tomorrow, so will have a really good play around with it then.
I have been pondering whether to get an OLED for ages now, read so many reviews of LED TVs and OLEDs trying to decide what to get... in the end I decided it was worth the extra for the excellent black levels of the OLED as I watch a lot of TVs and movie with dark action scenes and such... and have been bummed out with my 4k panasonic TV having the horrible black levels that look grey and with halo effect etc. So this Philips seems a good buy for only around £100 more than I paid for my 4K non-HDR LED TV approx 2 years ago... So now my mum's getting an early mothers day extra gift of the Panasonic, still has 3 years warranty left too from JL, so she should be happy with it for her soaps and stuff hopefully

I'm hoping this plays well with the logitech 906 5.1 surround system I bought a month or 2 back... most of the people complaiing about the sound that I have seen, have been problems with the HDMI ARC and not the optical, so hopefully that will be OK.
Costco had the 65 inch 854 model for £1350 inc vat today. 4K demo looked good, SD looked really poor though.

If that’s true (unlikely if you look at online prices including Costco listing as £1999) then I’d suggest posting it as that’s a crazy cheap price for that set assuming it’s new and unused and not damaged

It had 2 prices on it, (maybe new and a return or ex display at the cheap price) I’ll investigate tomorrow.

That’s one of the price labels that was on it. The other was £1100 something plus vat.
Really nice tv. Set mine up last night got it for £969 via richer sounds. Few things the remote is really poor and OS is very basic other than that very impressed highly recommend
Got mine around an hour ago, can't set it up yet though as I need a hand to wall mount (can't hold it up and screw in at the same time), so have to wait until later.
I will say though that the company RS uses to do their deliveries, well at least the next day delivery, is fantastic! Got notification/confirmation of dispatch, and delivery yesterday for 3 hour delivery slot. Then this morning they called about 40-60 mins before delivery to let us know... couldn't be happier with them TBH. They also make sure there's no damage to box with you, and confirm you are happy with it etc. I know it's to cover themselves with regards to false claims of damage, but it's nice to see that they have good customer service too... they were very nice chaps that delivered, and confirmed where I wanted the package too. Certainly makes you happier about choosing RS and getting a nice experience for a change.

Get it done professionally if worried. Just make sure you screw the tv mount into atleast 2 studs that hold up the plasterboard . If you can't screw into the studs, then Mount 22mm mdf board across 2 or 3 studs and Mount the TV onto that. Won't be a problem, just don't screw only into plasterboard.

Luckily my walls are proper walls, got a decent TV mount, and I use expansion bolts... there's no chance of this coming off the walls.
Yeah, I would do as above says, it's not that hard honestly.. I considered doing that with mine even, so I could hide the wires behind the MDF too, with spacers between the MDF and walls.

Have been fine tuning the setup on mine for the last 90 minutes or so. I remember some people saying in the reviews and discussions that there was no button to change source easily... I don't know WTF those guys had been smoking, but it's top right corner on the remote.
I bought this from RS for £969 the other day. Anyone using a soundbar with it? More precisely a sonos playbar and find the audio out of sync but not always? Or does anyone know how i can fox this?
Never had a problem on my old led tv

I'm using mine with a Sonos Beam can't say I've noticed any audio sync issue but I generally use iptv and on demand etc. In the sonos app there a audio delay option from memory maybe worth a try.
