Getting tempting. Just can't decide how much I am willing to pay, especially as my original budget for a new TV was £600 lol
£50 off with code tv50
Ambilight or HDMI 2.1, that is the question.
In-store £10 off vip

If you have a gaming PC, XboxX or getting a next gen console. LG.
If ot's OLED doesn't it have to be LG? Has any other manifacturer improved on their offering?

My current TV has I believe 38ms input and seems fine for me, I can't see the need for faster response for casual gamers.
What other benefits will 2.1 bring?
Haven't really read much about it.
Not that it will matter to me as my receiver is only 2.0
Whats the difference between this one 55oled804 and the others i.e (6000, 7000 and 8000 range)?
Went richer sounds earlier today to demo a few TVs the LG C9, Panasonic GZ950 and Philips 804. After the demo and some deep thought I decided to grab the 804 as wanted to beat tomorrows rush.
I doubt it will go cheaper anyway, other retailers might match tomorrow!?

If anyone is in a similar position to me deciding on which of the above TVs to buy then read on to see why I went with the 804.. Obviously this was my personal choice and it will vary to others and yes it was a VERY tough decision as they are all awesome TVs.
The GZ950 was amazing to watch when given normal SD and HD content and it looked richer and more natural than the C9 which was also a good picture but compared to the GZ950 looked a little washed out to me.
The 804 looked just as good as the GZ950 in colour and was also very natural in viewing but was a tiny bit more brighter in the highlights, maybe it was in its vivid mode? But still was really nice to watch.
Overall they were almost the same to be fair there were just small differences but the C9 did look more washed out to me.

I also did a sound test between the GZ950 and Philips 804 as by this time the C9 was out of the loop!! The GZ950 sounded a little more tinny to me than the 804 and the GZ950 was wall mounted too the 804 was not it was on a swivel tv stand.

In the end the picture quality, ambilights, android tv and better premium design with the rear connections that all face down or sideways which is ideal for me as im wall mounting. All this sold it to me.....plus the drop in price to match the GZ950 this kinda sealed the deal haha.

Forgot say one major downside to the 804 is the remote looks cheap and rubbish! This did surprise me as the TV looks great.
Also with regards input lag which is rated around 33ms this was not a big worry for me, im lucky if i get time play on my xbox one x with family commitments and im rubbish on call of duty anyway!!🤪

How much is the 6year warranty worth compared to the savings to be had elsewhere, is Curry's 10 percent from tcb
rev628/11/2019 19:24

Ambilight or HDMI 2.1, that is the question.

You won’t need 2.1 for most normal stuff for next 4-5 years probably. All consoles etc will start to have but they will have equally HDMI support.

Ambilight start form the day you open box
Same price from Curry's and now 15% tcb would be worth £200, is that a good enough trade for the 6 year warranty?

Same here. These OLED things are mad expensive. I think the jump to 4k will be enough for me, maybe grab an OLED when they're cheap tech.

LG make the panels, other manufacturers use them in their TV's.

Nope. If this goes wrong in the first 6yrs you’ll be glad of the warranty. Also, have you ever dealt with Curry’s customer services? Truly the most shocking I’ve ever dealt with.

Wait till Monday if I were you. There’ll be plenty of these deals until then and maybe even slightly better. Worse case scenario, you have another 3.5 weeks till Boxing Day sales start, and the prices will be just as good if not cheaper. I missed out on a BF deal last year for my Philips 65” 7303 and Boxing Day it was £50 cheaper still from Amazon

There wasn’t...

I think this might be the TV i want to buy, perhaps I should of bought it, but I was more thinking of Curry’s because it was cheaper with 10% cash back or even 15% on Black Friday itself, I wasn’t sure if to get this or a non oled Philips at 65” by the time I was making a choice the stock had disappeared and it was too late.

Hoping for a good deal on it again soon, maybe Boxing Day, likely that is the best time outside of Black Friday, particularly as this wasn’t a massive discount and Black Friday as usually been better than Boxing Day. Maybe not so much this year as the deals weren’t crazy. Be nice to have before Christmas, although not going to pay a couple of hundred extra just for that.
