  • P5 Pro Perfect Picture Engine for top quality images
  • The Philips P5 Pro Perfect Picture Engine takes you to the next level of picture processing. Maximising OLED’s natural talents of strong contrast and vivid colour, this Philips 55 inch TV delivers incredible realism with natural skin tones and textured landscapes. 5000 PPI motion processing produces smooth, blur free motion, making this TV ideal for fast-moving sports events and action films.

  • Total immersion with Ambilight 3-sided
  • Unique to Philips, Ambilight technology expands the picture’s presence, giving a more immersive and engaging experience. With intelligent LEDs around the top and sides of the TV, colour from the picture is cast into the room – in real time. Colour, vibrancy and excitement move beyond the screen and into your living room to bring you a viewing experience beyond the ordinary.

  • OLED TV
  • Delivering the ultimate picture quality, this Philips TV uses OLED technology. Unlike conventional LED TVs, OLED doesn't need a backlight. Each pixel makes its own colour and light. When they are turned off, they are completely black. With deeper blacks you get enhanced colours and astonishing contrast that allows you to enjoy the purest, most lifelike image.

  • Get the best from HDR with HDR10+ and WCG 99%
  • For the highest quality picture, HDR10+ offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology to date. With HDR10+ each scene is optimised, meaning the maximum amount of detail is shown – even in the brightest or darkest moments. Combined with Wide Colour Gamut at 99%, this Philips OLED TV produces stunning image realism. The 55OLED804 also supports standard HDR10 and HLG formats.

Hmmmm getting cheaper. Still living with my Panny Viera plasma for the blacks but need to go to 4K at some point. Is OLED as good as Plasma?
I have this TV. Fantastic! Paid the same price a year ago from AO

OLED is brighter, so in my opinion better

Though @Spicyhotnot may be able to give you a better comparison
Really want an OLED but ideally a 65 for 1300. I know that's v cheap!

Issue is the brightness

Oh..... I did see that but didn't pay attention to the deal, just saw the price.
I have had an oled for a few years, 3 years I guess, 55 inch LG, and the only single problem is the vertical banding visible during sports. Common issue. If that is sorted in these newer models... Or different brands ... Definitely go for it over plasma.
But I still miss my Panny plasma, especially this time of year when it warmed the house 😏

Been thinking similar myself, buy Chromecast ultra at £50 to get that functionality. Can't decide if the upgrades are really worth the extra, but then I am also trying to convince myself that I would be happy with the 8204 at £550.

Did you decide? I too have been trying to wrestle with this. I think thinking of the 804 over the cheaper OLED as it seemed to get oddly low score from Which? magazine. But the 8204 seems like a fantastic TV at half the price....

Still undecided. The 8204 seems like such a bargain that I am really struggling to justify spending double or more for the oled (804 or 755 + Chromecast ultra)
Just worried that the 8204 won't be a big enough upgrade over my current still very good TV (hisense m7000)
Just listened to the avforums podcast where they discuss this TV and they seem to love it. They say it has some of the best HDR performance they have seen on an oled not just lower level ones.

They should knock another fiver off this TV then it would be £1234
