The more i read into this TV the more negatives i'm coming back with. Poor android TV performance especially slow at turning the tv on, average input lag at 39ms, missing HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats, only 2 of the HDMI connections are HDCP 2.2 and the missing UK catch up apps. I think i've managed to talk myself out of a purchase even though i'd love an OLED Ambilight TV.

Oreo, P5 processor and ambilight makes this TV a great deal. It's a really nice TV

I notice that it states that all 4, my 5 and itv hub are not supported on Android TV, is this still the case with the Oreo update? Anyone with Android TV know of any workarounds if so?

Looks like an older OLED (2017) so not for everyone
Is ambilight any good when the tv is nowhere near a wall? Cheers
When is the Sony oled going to go on offer 🤞🏻

No, needs to be reasonably close to wall to work and flat too.. Wasn’t right at all when I had it in a corner of a room.
It's a cracking TV. The best I've ever owned.
is there is 65" version of this?
I have the none led version, the ambilight makes this the best TV set in our house.

Forget the clunky OS and house brick remote. Ambilight is a game changer.

Yes, same here!

Really wanted to try ambilight but considering reviews, I have arrived at conclusion I would be favouring gimmick over important things!

So went with Panasonic FZ952B- what an impressive piece of kit!:)

Highly recommended!:) Or FZ802B for same performance minus decent sound bar!:)

Lack of HDR+ and Dolby is a killer IMHO!

You got to have at least one until things clarify and standard will be set!

There is none forbnow and although Dolby seems to be better implemented that HDR+, HDR+ may still be a winner!:)

The HDCP thing you mention bears no relevance to everyday person!

How many HDMI inputs do you need? Buy decent amp with multiple HDMI’s and one common output for gods sake! And no one make it out like spending £800 -£1000 on TV set does not justify another £250-300 for decent amp:)

You either treating yourself to nice audio-video setup or just messing about:)

Fool e neighbour into thinking you've bought an Ambilight Telly by putting led strips behind your budget TV.
Got this for cheaper on black Friday from amazon and its been an excellent tv.
I bought the non android version of this TV and it is absolutely great. the ambilight is amazing. Yes you can buy led strips and do a lot of DIY mcuking about, but will not come close to the convenience and finish of a built in one. Absolutely worth the money.

Review of the android OS on TVs arent great.

Sadly not, but you can cast these from your phone or tablet as the TV has built in chrome cast. Its a great TV. Ambilight makes a massive viewing experience

Ambilight TVs are budget!
I bought this refurbished in a previous eBay code deal for a little over £500 (took a punt on a grade C!) and it's been a fantastic TV. Came from a Panasonic 50 plasma which had served us so well. I would find it very hard to go back to a normal screen after using ambilight. It looks great in the corner but agree that you wouldn't want it to be too far from a wall. I actually quite like the android interface, I guess I'm only comparing it to the terrible and old Panasonic interface (I'm sure the current ones are infinitely better). We had a 4k firestick anyway which we use for most things. Overall fantastic TV

On my Nvidia Shield my5, itv hub are both available no all 4 or now tv

How far away is the wall behind it?
2 metres, and its wardrobes with a mirror or 2 on the doors. The tv is for my bedroom
Will light up the room if its pitch black but you wont get the full effect

The Oreo update has made Android TV pretty good now.

Unfortunately the Panasonic interface is still clunky and dated on even their recent sets.
