If you're willing to install through unofficial channels, you can already get the Android TV Oreo update for it (which also fixes a ton of other issues with the TV).

Lots of people reporting on AVForums that it works absolutely fine, and all UK-specific services like Freeview also work fine afterwards.

God knows if Philips will ever actually get around to officially updating the UK model. They've been promising an update will arrive soon every month for the past eight months.

Few bugs here and there. Not had anything major though and I haven’t done the 3rd party update
I got this TV for £1199. Brilliant after the Oreo update.

That's a complete list of everything that was fixed during 2018 for the /12 (European) model of the TV (not including the Oreo update, though that includes all previous fixes). The UK one suffers from the same issues, but hasn't received any official updates since December 2017. Some say this is down to certification for said updates having to go through and be approved by Freeview in the UK, and some problem with that process. People have managed to get their hands on a couple of modified files that can be installed on the /05 (UK) model though, such as the one above.

Thanks for the details. I think I'll keep away. I'm a bit old fashioned in wanting a TV to just work when I press the On button.
