Shame it's not one of their androidtvs as their support and frequency of updates is brilliant!

Interesting offer — how does this stack up vs the similar priced Samsung such MU6120 on deal here too ?

Refresh rate 60hz, hate it when TV manufacturers quote crazy and stupid stats like 700hz.

Other than that's is a ok set at an ok price.

Would prefer the hisense 5700 £50 more on the same code. 1200 motion rate which I take with a pinch of salt. and the 4th hdmi.

I agree, they're all at it, the Philips motion technology is very good though, not true 700hz but will be very good nonetheless.

I have two of these and I think they’re really good TVs.

Only slightly weird thing is that despite them being identical televisions with the latest firmware update, my downstairs TV has an iPlayer app and the upstairs one doesn’t. There is no option of downloading iPlayer in either the Philips store or the Play Store.

Another issue is that you cannot Chromecast iPlayer to these sets as you just get a scrambled image. This has been the case for at least half a year.

what the like for gaming ?

Where did this TVS10 code come from? It doesn't work on the TV that I want.. 😔

Is the TV over £500? Usually it's only on TVs over £500

Did you notice you can also get a Now Tv smart box with 3 months entertainment for £10 with this tv?

I believe the code is for TV's £299 and above

I phoned CS and the woman told me there are no discount codes for TVs right now...

Online CS are clueless of this code aswell. If you are going to buy one I suggest you do it sooner rather than later.

There's a Groupon for 10% off Argos TVs at the moment, don't know if it's that code.

Phillips website shows the model has a DVB S2 tuner, Argos doesn't mention that...anyone confirm?

Thanks. Passed the info to CS. Hopefully they will approve for the tv I'm after.

How are you using the code, if you want to pay online and collect in store go for the fast track option

It's a problem with the specificTV/product rather than the code. It's probably been placed in the wrong category in their system making the code invalid. I can get the code to work for other TVs. Thanks.

That's a bummer if you were ready to buy :-(

Thank you! I was going to buy this tv at full price, got it for £449. Very happy 😃

Can anyone tell me if John lewis will price match with a TV on amazon. It's 50 pounds less on amazon but I'd like the 5yr guarantee that John lewis offer. Thanks in advance

Got Samsung MU6120 50 inch for £449 using argos code TVS10 and I’m delighted with my bargain. Code still active

I got the older 43in version of this TV last year for £379 from Argos and i have to say what a cracking tv, picture quality is cracking, HDR even though it is a 8bit panel is great in games and show via netflix, Forza 7 is astonishing in 4k HDR upscaled on the XBox one S, and 4k in so good that i wish i had room for a bigger screen in my bedroom.

And 4k games via the PC and steam big picture are amazing, you have to see Assasins creed syndicate in 4k on this TV, just amazing.

Oh and somebody ask about DVB S2 tuner, the TV comes two connectors, one for the old ariel connection and one with that screw type freesat/sat connection that looks like a cable box connection, i have not used these myself as i don't watch terrestrial TV and have no ariels, but it has two connections if that is any help to you.

Anyway heat, if my 60in 5 year old plasma TV gave up the ghost i would certainly grab this TV, 4k in 55in would be awesome.

But it's all trickery really and sales bull plop (more must be better), all UK/Euro broadcasts will be at 50Hz, the 60Hz is for NTSC (American/Japan/Asia) - many find that turning off the supposed picture enhancements that they quote these outlandish 600Hz rates is nothing more than extra processing which often looks worse. I've yet to see any TV produce better results when using these extra modes... the exception is probably gaming.
