Probably not through telesales but maybe in-store. Competitors need to offer it with a similar warranty to price match.

The warranty is dog shit... if they cant fix it they will give a replacement like for like or partial refund over the 6 years... so after 3 years youll get like 150 to 200 quid back or a tv that had nearly the same features which will be a basic dog crap model worth 200 quid... even paying insurance only offers this. You never get your money back in full or a tv on par.

5 year warranty, rather save the £ for the sake of a year extra

Where, Dave?
You might be correct about the warranty and I sort of agree but Costco seem different as one example as many reports of them refunding 100% right up to the end of the warranty time period.
Anyway back on topic, Ambilight is very good, my next TV will be an Ambilight OLED, I'm a huge fan of that gimmick now, highly recommend Ambilight.
Ambilight is Great
Any thoughts on the 65 inch model?

I don't think you fully understand the point of an extended warranty. It is not to recoup the money you paid in full but merely to mitigate against the costs of repair in the event of breakdown. If they can't repair contrary to what say you will get a replacement usually new and on par or better than your TV. It's very simple and fair.

Did u read my post? You dont ever get a better tv... technology gets better a cheaper models get that tech and thats the models you end up with. Extra warranty meams sweet fa 9/10 times and when you pay for a good one its basically half the cost if the tv anyway

From the research I have done, prices get significantly higher for sets above 50".

No they wont.

As I personally found out.
They told me to find a retailer selling the identical tv with an identical 6 year warranty and they would match that price.
Still bought from them as it was (at the time) only £30 more for peace of mind.

I did but disagree and the Richer Sounds warranty is inclusive anyway ! Paid for extended warranty's are a different matter.

Curry's eBay gave you a 5 yr warranty on a Philips TV, don't think so.

SoWhat's the problem. Why would you get a better TV if you claim in the insurance? The point of the insurance is to put you back to the position you were in before you claimed (or as close as possible). A like for like replacement or a cash payout enabling the customer to buy a equivalent product seem entirely fair and just.

Yup...cold
Nah. That doesn't sound like curry's. They are not the generous kind

I had a old panasonic plasma (hd ready) which gave up the ghost after 4 years and RS gave me a choice of new tv's based on the size and cost of the panny. So was able to get a brand new full hd tv which i still have, but the warranty only covered the remaining period of the panny. I would purchase from RS again with their warranty, be it 5 or 6 years (pref 6 years).
