Great deal OP - I’ve got this set from Black Friday and for this price wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it.

This is marginally dearer than Black Friday but when mine finally arrived (over two weeks) its been awesome. Well worth this cost.

Don't be silly sir. Nice thought but they'd never refund you a deal you were happy to pay weeks back.

Deals are always around on BF & the christmas/Jan sales. Contact customer services but I don't think they'd refund you over £100.

Not what their Terms and Conditions say, which is the reason why I went for it "just in case".

That's what I thought, thank you - I did clarify with staff when I bought, just wondered what experience people had when doing it.

Great TV though!

You’ve a 90 day returns on TVs - they won’t argue with you and even if they tried ( which they won’t ) obviously just return your set and reorder online at the lower price.
I bought the same in the BF sale. Is the cast to tv working fine? Mine seems to get stuck
What's the difference between this and the 55PUS8204 other than the price and size?

Looking around, the 55pus8204 is ips panel, not va. The 8 series has more rom/ram.

Not sure, but what I've seen suggested that 8 series is full hdr10, whereas the 7 is hdr 10 (8bit + frc). Anyone confirm?

I too would be interested. I'm toying between this and Currys at £549.
The extra 3 inches *ahem* and 5 year warranty is leaning me towards the 7 series.
From my research 8 series is newer software, higher ram/rom as per lovelldr. And 1900PPI (vs 1700 on 7 series)
B&W speakers only on 88** series, so I think speakers same?
Is anyone who has one able to actually confirm the RAM difference? Other than a website on the internet that doesn’t state its sources I am wondering if it is true. As ideally I would like an 8 series in 58”

The Philips site says that this TV has 16GB flash which is the same as 8204 so really not sure if these differences are correct.
I ordered this in BF and no evidence of 5yr warranty

Does this have iPlayer, ITV Hub apps etc.? Given this is an Android TV, presumably these apps can be downloaded from Google Play? Thanks

No clue why . I don’t use any of them so not a big deal to me but it doesn’t make much sense to not have it.

No need to do that mate it’s your deal all credit to you, I was just having a joke with the description that’s all.

No worries and well spotted - excellent deal.

I already said it’s not available for my TV. Not bothered at all as I only use the smart features, not the TV features.

Oh ok - it might have been useful just to say you can download it though rather then saying it doesn’t have it and giving the impression it’s not available.

But I have literally just said that it isn’t available and you cannot download it from the Play Store . Not sure if you can side load it but it’s not officially supported on the TV and cannot be downloaded from the official Play Store.
Don't suppose anyone knows who the panel manufacturer is by any chance? My 12 month 5 day old Sony has just sh*t the bed with a screen issue. Sony to their credit came to the rescue with a solution... Buy another Sony TV.

My understanding is the panel is made by LG

Nvm?
For anyone wondering about the user interface my Philips abilight TV which is 3 years old recently got an Android TV update to this new style layout and software and it's brilliant, almost as good as my LG TV. I'm really impressed, it was buggy as hell in the first year of ownership but I'd say it's now as good as LG and way better than Samsung (I think the UI on Samsung and most other TVs is crap). The only downside for me is no NOWTV app.
