WHY and WHY would I buy this when I can get a Polaroid UHD telly from Asda for half the price????

Seems like a good deal, pretty under rated tvs, 3 direction ambilight is decent too.

What sort of comparison is that? But to answer your question, you get what you pay for and in this case, image quality.

It's best to post the model when posting TV deals, lack of information tends to gather cold votes. This is the 6521 rather than the more commonly posted 6401 so it gets the higher quality 120hz panel, more substantial remote, upwards facing ambilight and other improvements. If it had been something even higher like the 7601 it might have been scorching.

And build quality, and features. Support too, you're somewhat more likely to get issues fixed and have replacement bits available after a year or two.

*Polaroid went bankrupt in 2001, the name has been licensed out to various parties since then. If you're lucky it's a major budget player like Vestel, if you're unlucky it's the cheapest junk available.

i paid around this for a ks9000 49 inch samsung so this is a good deal if it is 10bit. ignore the Polaroid guy... he trolls it in every TV thread.

Stupidly cold for the price! I've got the 55inch and Ambilight is unexpectedly great on that even though it's just left and right. This has top lighting too. I'd buy it if I had space for it.

see you have posted zero deals yourself, this site is really crying out for people like you

If only there was more than a year of warranty.

Philips provide a 2nd year warranty with their TVs

8 + FRC is fine it produces the same color palette as a 10 bit panel the end user will never see any difference because fundamentally there is none.

Why is this deal so cold?

Is it a bad tv?

I think I read on here that Philips don't make their own tvs any more.

OOS for delivery to your area.

They sold the entire business to TPV. TPV are another display company who up until that point were primarily known for AOC monitors and, in Europe, only sell TVs using the Philips brand.

So this isn't like Sharp or Toshiba where the models are budget Vestel units more or less identical to those sold under lots of other brands. These Philips TVs may not have that much to do with Philips of Holland but they do seem to be the equal of the old Philips range.
