These are brilliant, picked one up from Amazon for about £70, been in near non-stop use since trick with the chips - dont wash them, throw some oil on and mix well - then chuck em in on 170-180 for 10mins, shake and bake again for 10mins, if you want them extra crispy then put them on 200 for the final few mins

Much better than an actifry used almost daily for almost 2 years

do they actually taste fried or is it the taste of oven baked??

or it's £0.01 cheaper at Currys. Should I vote my own post cold?

Have to disagree. I would say to soak them to get out excess starch and then dry thoroughly before lightly coating with oil and frying at about 160 for 20 mins or so. I have tried lots of different methods and this produces the lightest fluffiest chips. Maris Pipers work the best for me

I would say somewhere between the two...

We bought one instead of a chip pan and we are really impressed. Cubed potatoes (White or sweet) with some rosemary and salt are amazing.

We also had friends around the other night and cooked a load of french fries in it, which come out amazing considering we used 1/2 a tablespoon of oil.

We have found that Olive oil burns in this, so have switched and now for us they taste like chips.

The basket is fairly small, but we use it to bake mushrooms and tomatoes in too and its much quicker than heating up our fan assisted oven,

Very impressed for a fairly healthy alternative.
