No bloody wonder if you 'yried' them

Less fat...... but at the cost inferior taste and texture.... also the chips look gross when cooked in this.
There's only one way to cook chips and that's to deep fry them.

Nothing better to cook oven chips in TRUST ME

putting aside the fire issues, how does this compare to the Tefal Actifry? Love my actifry but went pop after 3 years so on the lookout for a replacement. Likes the big window of the actuary, does this have that?

actually - this doesn't stir the food like the actifry. You have to shake halfway through! Will stick with actifry. Even though went pop was after being used about 4 times a week for 3 years so not bad.

This was £99 on amazon brand new. Worth checking there 1st

These are great, the kids can cook their own tea! Oven chips taste great etc etc

Is that such a bad thing though? I got an actifry and it is good but the one bad thing is that you can't really do very soft stuff in there like scampi etc because it ends up all crumbled because of the paddle...well, not all crumbled, but a lot of it.

Yeah the minor issue of it setting your house on fire. "My house is dust but these chips taste furking amazing, shame I won't get this quality when I'm visiting the local soup kitchen".

I agree, if you use the 3 way cook ones, much better than in the oven.

Your supposed to take the paddle out when you do certain foods. Like chops, chicken portions etc. the fat doesn't go down the centre opening as it is raised. You need to turn them half way through cooking, that's all. Hope this helps!

Wouldn't a kettle be better for that?

(or are you one of those northern types who hasn't quite got the hang of the language yet)

I have one and it does most things very well - except chips. The actifry does chips much better. However the Philips has the advantage of having no moving paddle so you can do things like fish fingers which the actifry turns into mush.

I thought this too...

But have a read a few posts back, take the paddle out and it cooks fish fingers a treat, did some last night!

Had the Tefal, but find the Philips Airfryer far superior.
