Not bad for £15. You probably can't test it if it's going to be a present.

is this in store only

I bought it instore. Don't know if it is online as well.

Appears to be in store only. £30 at Amazon, so £15 looks good on the face of it, but reviews on Amazon are nearly all really bad. I guess you get what you pay for......

If buying a good brand like Philips then it should be
good, whatever you pay for it.

Got one of these last Jan for my birthday from my wife. We love it. Yes, you need to turn the backlight on the screen at night but we think the gradual fade when using the sleep timer and the gradual volume rise on the alarms are nice touches.

I bought one a couple of weekends ago, they were £15 in my nearby Asda then (as now). I got it home, took it out of the box and plugged it in. 15 seconds later it was back in the box. A cup of tea later and I was on my way back to Asda.

The numbers are unrecognisable as numbers, and are too small (a portion of the display, not the whole of it). The refund went along the lines of one that they‘d done so many times for the same reasons — they didn’t even ask what the problem was, they just knew.

Great find, thanks

Since when was Philips a 'good brand'?

Since when was Philips a 'good brand'?

They used to be but like so many reliable and strong brands they're now a shadow of their former selves

Phillips have gone downhill but they have never been a top brand,i knew someone who worked for them on the tv production and he said they used to bodge repairs.

What store was it in? i have tried 3 local stores and they don't even stock the product

Awful product.. would be great if it wasn't for the low hum it emits when turned off..

But useless as it is supposed to be next to a bed.. It keeps you up all night...

Mine sometime hums, i don't know why some products do this!

The gradual fade up seems to come on quiet then get very very loud for first thing in the morning!! i always have to fumble about a few seconds after it goes off to control the volume!!

Was going to rush round and buy one of these but since reading the reviews on Amazon I can see why it's so cheap, looks like a complete pile of poop, think I would take it back if I was you, otherwise you may never hear the end of it from whoever you give it to for Christmas
