350 for 43" LED doesn't sound like a very good deal to me, there are cheaper and better options. Not to mention the cheap philips tvs are just awful, their smart functions are very slow and take ages to load. Sometimes it takes 10 retries to launch netflix and I am speaking about same class phillips from last year. I would definetely avoid their cheap models

But consider this has Ambilight and the ability to control Hue lights.
To achieve the same on another TV, you'd need a £200 Hue Sync Box and £150 worth of Hue Play Bars.

Too be honest I think most builtin smart TV platforms are poor, I'd always add a Firestick 4K to any UHD TV.

I agree, but you will be surprised what good and fast software other brands put in their cheap models. Philips are one of the few ones which are really bad. I guess my point is that buying this, even with the lights, is not worth it compared to 200£ 43" that will launch apps instantly, because the software and hardware on this is horrible. Each to their own of course, but I am voting cold because I believe it's a really bad deal

I and many others could not give the slightest concern to TV 'apps' ALL of them, on ANY TV are a waste of time. All I need any TV to do is tune into HDMI 1 with the least hassle and let all the better devices do what they do best and leave the TV to do what it should do i.e. display a picture.
I have the 7334 50" arriving in an hour.... £404 via AO/ebay after the 10% discount that was available. Much better value I think. That's if you actually want a 50" model of course.
Get Richer Sounds to price match and have the 6 year warranty.

Sorry but this sounds like it comes from the 80s If you pay for smart TV you would expect to get smart functuons. Just like you would expect the screen to work. And using native netflix app is 100x better and simplier than hooking your laptop and playing netflix there. Even your statement makes this deal really bad - if you only care about the hdmi why pay 350£ for 43" LED? That's a rip-off. Overall philips really need to step up their game, currently their cheap TVs are the worst on the market. You can find this same screen and audio for 250 on another brand

from the 80's ? hmm I don't want a smart TV, that's the point. I have a commercial plasma panel and a non smart projector in may main room. Any device I plug in to it (which will be a media PC) will be smarter, better than anything on any smart TV itself , and I can upgrade it independently of my display.. Why would I have a £2000 media/game/entertainment PC and then use a stupid app on a TV with a pokey remote to navigate about LOL....
HeIl, I HAVE this TV in the bedroom and I ended up plugging a Firestick in to it because the in built apps, user interface and experience of using the 'smart' feature is just so bad. The good point about this TV is the ambilight features. The picture quality is OK from a distance but up close it's terrible. Classic looks of the old LCD panels with moving textures, smeary motion 'painterly' faces etc. . also the remotes SUCK why did philips design it so you cant tell which way you are holding it unless you look at it. I mean seriously come on did ANYONE not use it during design ?

Try John Lewis and Richer Sounds.
I've just received this but the TV displays bottom right as

in the photo.
Is this a fault or am I investigating too much?

put a picture on it. watching a black screen isn't handy and will show anything like this up. It's probaly par for the course. Even 'high end' TVs show this kind of problem. Its becuase of the edge lit backlighting. Also, it's a 349 quid TV.

Thanks for the response.
I have tried switching ambilight off but it still stays.
With colours it's not that bad.
