Literally just saw this myself! Heat!

OK people, are these better than the 7 series? Mainly the 7334
Wondering the same here.. This or the 7334
Shame no 70 inch
I have a Philips TV, the 50 inch ambilight that went hot last year. Had a few issues with the Philips server being down, the last occasion about 3 months ago it was down for 2 days, no apps worked. I have had no issues work my 4 year old LG. Indeed when I upgraded it last week I got a Samsung as my son has had no issues in the last 3 years with his smart TV.

googled and found this on another forum - The 8 series Philips has improved built in sound and a wide colour gamut, the 7 series lacks both.

Thank you! I guess with external speakers, sound wouldn't be much of an issue. Leaving just the colour gamut

It’s the 7334 I’ve been keeping an eye dropping under £400 but not sure if that’s going to happen.

I hadn’t looked into this model but at first glance looks good for £450 (50”) and it’s got 4 hdmi (a must for my setup). Will need to look into it a little more.
So this is a great buy for the money? Has micro dimming or something but only peak brightness of 350 nits and half the hdmi slots are watered down?
Lots of like minded folks waiting on a deal for the 7334 hope we are rewarded for our patience in the end
Cheapest 7334 has been is £404 I think, that was £449 on AO less 10% ebay discount
Keeping a close eye on this and the 7 series
Is this amongst the best sub £500 TVs 49/50 inch
8204 65 inch or wait for Costcos 7304 70 inch(already ordered, but can cancel)? same price basically. The only difference i see is PPI 1900 vs 1700 for 7304, worth canceling the costco one for this?

What about this dimming feature? Does it have anything more than local?
Heat from me. Been wanting an Ambilight and trigger pulled.

Work discount scheme meant I have bought £450 of vouchers for £414.
Topcashback are indicating 15% on TV. If so that's just under another £67.

Meaning potentially this TV has cost me £347. Well happy.

I stand to be corrected but I believe this is edge lit as oppose to the 7 series which is direct lit led panel.

What do you mean? This is a direct lit LCD screen and not full array

This is direct lit the same as the 7000
Paid £499 from currys this week, very happy (although as it was a Black Tag deal i'd expect they'll refund me another £50 now its come down?)

youtube.com/wat…HBk

From what i've read more up to date software, better colour gamut, sound, processor, smaller cleaner stand.

Sound is rich, clear and good bass, picture phenoninal, if I turn the ambilight off after owning this for a day, I miss it already!

Given it's a VA screen, what are the viewing angles like? I need a tv that's watchable from all around the room. I've not managed to see a Philips set in the flesh anywhere.

Yes just jargon, it's no OLED but does a very good job for a mid range tv, The black bars are black and colour is very good having the wide colour gamut, motion is good with no judder or stutter.

You will need to look for an IPS panel for wider viewing angles or a top end QLED or an OLED

Not in the same league this tv is much better than the entry level Samsung
Has anyone tried gaming on these? Can't find any reviews about input lag or refresh rate.

Seems 7 series is ~30ms input lag in gaming / monitor mode.

Considering getting a Samsung 7100 or Lg UM7500 which both have less than 20ms input lag.

But want the Ambilight! Help!
Does anyone know of I buy the TV via topcashback with the bundled Nest Mini, will the cashback still work??

I went through TCB and bought the 55" and nest mini bundle and the cashback has tracked already, but only at a nominal value. I expect this to be uplifted further down the line.

Which voucher code you are talking about? Att curry’s page? And think again if you want to use topcashback you shouldn’t use any extra discount or voucher. With this math tv cost 383 + 67 cashback. If there is better option please advice
