That's annoying, I ordered it at £479 two days ago. I've contacted Currys to ask if there's anything that can be done.
thanks
I ordered this before Christmas. around the blackfriday deals.

I have the 55" and find it perfect.

one of my sofa's is direct and the other is left of the TV, both have good pictures, so no issues with viewing angles
I have this TV. The image is great. I love ambilight. Android is a waste of time unfortunately. Not all UK catch up is available through Andriod TV. Andriod TV is also buggy. As a result I have to use a Amazon firestick for smart features.

I've got a similar model and completely agree. The picture is fantastic and Ambilight is great.

However Android TV is really sub par. There aren't many apps, hardly any catch up apps, and the platform is fairly buggy. Half the time my EPG doesn't work as I'm running it through Satellite and support tell me "they don't fully support satellite". Great.

I've got the 50PUS8204, it received Freeview Play and all the UK catch-up apps after the last update. The only issue is that the TV needed to be reset for the apps and the Freeview play guide to show up.

Push it with them if they are awkward. Threaten a return if not, I'm sure a manager would atleast be able to throw in a free hdmi and optical audio cable or something to help balance the prices.

I used to support IP infrastructure and engineers installing high-speed satellite broadband. Smart TVs and satellite connections really don't get on. It's usually a connection limit getting hit as apposed to bandwidth due to the amount of connections that the TV hogs. Most satellite modems won't support as many concurrent connections than most mainstream methods of connectivity. On top of that you have the latency issues, many hardware/software designs (smart TVs being a culprit evidentially) do not consider that a high latency connection is not faulty but instead different and needs to be handled and responded to differently.

Our response to our partners was always best efforts in regards to this sort of end user issues.
