Beautiful picture

See incredible detail in everything you watch, with the Philips Ambilight 65PUS6814/12 65" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV. With over 8 million pixels and four times the resolution of Full HD, you'll enjoy sharp images and improved depth of colour.

And with support for HDR content, you'll see the brightest and darkest shades of colour in the same frame. So, whether it's a dimly lit dialogue scene or a tense battle in the dark of night, you'll always know exactly what's happening on screen.

Be immersed with Ambilight

From movies to games, get more immersed in your content with Philips Ambilight. LEDs cast the colours on your screen onto the wall behind it and into your room, creating a stunning effect that will make your screen feel bigger and give every show a tailored, real-time light show.

Amazon Alexa

Say goodbye to the hassle of endless scrolling and use your voice to control your TV. With Amazon Alexa built-in, whether you want to check the weather, mute the TV, or turn on the Ambilight, all you need to do is ask.

You can even control other Alexa compatible devices around your home, like smart light bulbs or the thermostat without even needing to get up.

Bundles of choice

Can't decide what to watch next? Just hit the smart TV button on your remote and discover a huge choice of edge-of-your-seat blockbusters and dramas on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, and more.

And with Freeview Play, you're able to catch-up with any TV show you may have missed over the past 7 days, whenever you have the time. So, no need to cancel your plans to catch that epic season finale.

Crystal clear audio

A great picture deserves great sound to match. The Philips 65PUS6814/12 TV features Dolby Atmos, placing you at the centre of the action on screen. By reimagining your TV audio as a 3D experience, everything you hear feels like it's happening around you. So, sound always feels expansive and spacious.

Is the ambilight actually worth buying?

Every comment I've ever seen on here in relation to ambilight feature go along the lines of...

"Ambilight is AMAZING, wouldn't be without it now"

"Once you have it nothing else will do"

"highly recommend ambilight"

So the short answer to your question is Yes.

I don't know if you are joking or not. People have budgets and not everyone has loads of disposable income, what the op said was pretty normal.

Thank you
OH says I can have a new telly , so thanks for posting this deal, I'll check it out. So far in the list I have LG 65UM7660PLA (£699) , LG65UM7510 (£649) and Samsung UE65RU7100 , got JL to price match Crampton and Moore website price £599 , Can get from their eBay shop at for £554 with code but JL give 5 year warranty. Hoping for some further reductions as Black Friday gets closer.
Switched from Alexa earlier this year to Google as it stopped controlling my current TV (using Harmony) . This one has Alexa built in but strangely Currys are offering the Google mini for £10 with this TV but will it work with it?

Would rather pay extra and go with the LG OLED on offer in Currys.
I have the 50" model of this and have banished it to another room. It cant handle sports and has awful picture in SD mode. I guess such a large TV will be even worse

But the cheapest 65" LG Oled is over a grand more? Probably not a viable alternative for those looking at this TV!

It's a shame these Philips TV's have generally middling reviews though. I love the Idea of ambilight, but it just sounds like the screen quality isn't there.

Size isn't everything.
I went to the 55" OLED and the picture is much much better.
Even watching for example the BBC 7 continents series in 4k on led isn't as good as watching the oled in HD.
Ultimately for me as a watcher of loads of football I couldn't deal with the motion blur on the led

LG is far superior, their LG Web OS and magic remote are industry standard !

I need a 60+ telly for under a K, got any recommendations? Bedroom telly so doesn’t have to be OLED like my downstairs one

Yeah, it's true.

I don't think I'll get a TV without ambilight now, great feature and you can always turn it off if you don't happen to like it!

I'm tempted to get this but I think I'm gonna hold to Black Friday and get a 50" for my room.
Anyone knows if you can set static light for ambilight, for example only have blue color at all times?

Why are they so cheap though, I need it's just some clever lighting but surely there's a downside with reliability or warranty?

Last time we got a new TV I bought on spec after taking nephew to Richer sounds , he got such a bargain I had to have one too. I left it in the box in the front room whilst I went to set his up. She got a right shock when she saw the box on getting in from work. This time I thought I give out a few hints that I was looking. Expected the 'what do we need a new telly for' but didn't get it.

It depends on how much you care about the lights matching the screen content. If that's not a huge issue it's better to get some strip led lights for around £10 which give the same effect but don't match the colour on the screen
10 bit panel?

Could you kindly comment if ambilight will still be of use if i have the tv on a corner table instead, with a glass panel one side and a curtain on other side...i.e. not flat surfaces e.g. a wall for the projection of light.

My 55 inch Samsung just died a month out of 5 year warranty. Had to replace main board. Don’t think TV are designed to last like they used to be !

Nope. has no slot for the games. Better off with an Xbox One or PS4
Confused why it says Atmos, does it have some kind of virtual surround sound built in to it ?

Size is the main selling point of this deal. Why are you bringing up a 55” OLED which is £500 more?
