It'll upscale your older shows and movies too, letting you rediscover your favourites as you've never seen them before.

Be immersed with Ambilight

From movies to games, get more immersed in your content with Philips Ambilight. Dolby Atmos gives your audio a boost too, for a full sensory experience that captures all the original richness of your content. Everything will look and sound more real than ever.

This should get hot , I have the older 7 series with same smart remote , has the P5 chip , and it's the best buy I have made the past 2 years .
After months of holding off ordered right size, solid model wanted series 7 or 8 and price finally got where I wanted.
...is there 75"+ 8-series model out there?

...I am after at least 75", ideally 8-series and don't want pay OLED's prices, at least not now
That's an amazing deal. I paid more for 7 series. I would grab it if I didn't have one!
Wow, just bought it from your post. Thanks so much!
Good spec, good price, good size, can't go wrong
any reviews out there has this TV got a good input lag?
Warranty?
looked at this yesterday but gone with the Hisense H65U7BUK as managed to get it for £584.10 hope I have made the right choice
Thanks for posting, been looking for a new Amblight TV.

I know this may have been discussed a lot, but a lot of conflicting information.

This, or the 70" 7 series from Costco for £100 more - hotukdeals.com/dea…337

Need a new TV and love the amblight my current 48" one has.
Does this have a built in HD satalite tuner? I don't mind if it's not Freesat. I prefer a dish rather than an arial.
What does the 8 series have over the 7 and 6 series?

Just for your information the 65 inch is 83.4% bigger area than the screen size of a 48 inch &
The 70 inch is a whopping 112.7% bigger area than the 48 inch. Not that that’s what you asked lol.
The image quality should be a fair bit better on the smaller TV because it’s a better model with a smaller screen.

Higher brightness can't be expected at this size / price.

Interesting...

I went for the 70PUS7304 from Costco yesterday evening but very nearly went for the 75PUS6754 for the extra 5" hey every inch counts right!?

Anyway.... the 75" is a 6000 series so no P5 perfect picture engine and a picture performance rating of 1200 and 3x hdmi ports.
The 70" (7000 series) has the P5 and a rating of 1700 and this 65" also has the P5 with 1900 rating but its an 8000 series

More info on PPI here - philips-tvconsumercare.kxondemand.com/por…397

Also the 70" from Costco has their 5 yr warranty vs the 2 from Currys.

I think i will stick with the 70".... I feel like i've already taken a hit by losing those vital 5 inches and feel less of a man.... i cant afford to lose another 5!
shahidali4719/02/2020 12:06

What does the 8 series have over the 7 and 6 series?

Picture performance index is higher - see my post above
you also get the P5 processor in the 7/8000 series so Android is snappier and 4 x hdmi ports.
Thanks OP, ordered.
Order via eBay with 5% off code PARTY5!
Thanks OP and renegade69 .. bought !

Yeah mine looked like it had been resealed. All looked fine inside. It's good tho except with the odd glitch across the top of the screen so keeping an eye on it and might have to return. I do like it though...
Seen a few remarks RE openend box, mine too, but everything inside looked like it hadn't been ever taken out/? strange one!

I bought this after taking delivery of a RU7100 Samsung from Ebuyer which came with a broken frame, gutted as the picture was superb and at first better than this Philips 8204 (both 65 inch). Ebuyer delivery and customer service - nitemare, would never ever buy a big telly from them again. Arrow XL no better either, took 2 weeks in total to sort out after sending back after 2 working days. The Ambilight is something I can now not live without. Its amazing!! The settings for picture and sound are very very fussy and longwinded but I am now happy with the picture and quality. The sound was not great in terms of volume, until I found the delta volume? which amplified it. Also wasnt keen on the silver frame, which has grown on me.

Had this TV for 3 days now, and wasn't too keen at first, but with lots of messing about with settings for sound, picture and the lights, I would now say its superb!!! Even the big centre stand and plinth makes for a good soundbar position.

I send mine back for new one(security sealed by manafacture )not sealing tape by curry or ...... will see what happen when second delivery arrive. Curry rep says it doesnt mean it second hand and I told them it doesnt mean its new as its open box so send me new TV with seal or refound. Finger cross.
