Enjoy cinema-sized viewing, with the Ambilight-equipped Philips 75PUS6754.

3-sided Ambilight for picture immersion
Ambilight technology is unique to Philips. It makes the screen appear much wider—and your viewing experience more immersive—by emitting an extra wide glow from three-sides of your TV screen onto the surrounding wall. Colour, vibrancy and excitement move beyond the screen and into your living room to bring you a viewing experience beyond the ordinary.

Pixel Precise Ultra HD and Micro Dimming for optimised picture
Unique picture processing sets the Philips apart from its rivals. Pixel Precise Ultra HD delivers smoother motion and life-like picture depth. Micro Dimming analyses the picture across thousands of zones and adjusts it accordingly. This maximises the contrast for life-like images and realism.

Get the best from HDR with HDR10+
For the highest quality picture, HDR10+ offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology to date. With HDR10+ each scene is optimised, meaning the maximum amount of detail is shown – even in the brightest or darkest moments. The 75PUS6754 also supports standard HDR10 and HLG formats. HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma HDR) is a broadcast and user generated standard format that is set to become the standard for transmitting 4K signals.

Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
As well as supporting HDR10+, the 75PUS6754 is also compatible with Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas around the world. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.

Smarter TV from SAPHI
Packing the latest SAPHI smart system, powered by a Quad Core processor, this Philips 75” TV is a slick performer with Smart content, too. Connect up to your home network by Ethernet or Wi-Fi and enjoy access to a wide range of apps including favourites such as Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube the BBC iPlayer and more. A built-in web browser lets you browse and stream to your heart's content.

Crisp and detailed sound
Compatible with Dolby Atmos sound tracks, the 75PUS6754 has the potential to deliver spacious, enveloping sound. Clear Sound improves dialogue, making it easier to hear individual voices.

Freeview Play for catch-up TV
Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside over 60TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

Fully connected
Three HDMI sockets make it easy to connect a Blu-ray player, games console and TV set-top box. All sockets are HDMI 2.0 version with HDCP 2.2, making this TV compatible with UHD Blu-ray players and most 4K HDR streaming services. Other connections include twin USB sockets, featuring recording to a compatible USB device. Throw in an optical connection for a soundbar/base plus headphone sockets and you've everything you need from your new TV.

Scale up movie night and enjoy the thrill of the cinema, at home, with the Philips 75PUS6754.

Would be buying an OLED 55" at this price imo, 75" is a ton of TV though!
I'm tempted to bite. Should I purchase or wait for OLED.

Any pros and cons....

This has not had any price drop as per your description - it has been £899/£879 since April AFAIK.

I'm in the market for a new TV to replace my 55".

Is the picture quality decent...any pros or cons? It will be used mainly for films.

What’s normally TV quality like? On my 49” TV quality isnt great so scaling it up 1.5 times must make it a lot worse unless upscaling is very good.

I really want this but it seems to have been this price for so many months... im concerned about buying this and then a month after the new 75pus7835 comes out, its £900 too or the 6754 drops to £750-800
Been watching this tv for a while and the price just wont drop
Same price in Jan, same code too

So my last tv was a Panasonic viera plasma (1080p) and I loved that tv. Ok the picture from a 4k source is great, but the blacks aren’t great. However, even when the screen is completely black the ambilights are like a green which makes it not as noticeable.

mine has a really small light bleed on the bottom of the screen, but unless you’re literally face to screen you don’t see it.

The thing that makes this tv shine is ambilight, so it’s best if you have a white wall and ceiling if it’s wall mounted. Also you really need to measure your room to make sure you place it correctly for ambilight. I think I’d like at least 30cm space on the sides to get the best out of it.

those are the main points, let me know if you want more things I’ve noticed

If you have a good quality 1080p source, it’s look good. I don’t think I upscale anything. Anything below 1080p look really blury
Oh and I forgot to mention if you take this tv on the buy now pay later thing, you pay 10% deposit and at the end of the interest free term, there is a £29 “early repayment” fee

I imagine getting a 75inch oled at sub £900 will be a multi year wait.

I had the same dilemma. The main thing that pushed me away from OLED is the burn in issues. Search for the OLED tv you’re thinking about buying on YouTube and add burn in to check
how does this compare to similar priced LG and Toshiba. I'm in the market for 75+ TV under £1k

I do not know about big Toshiba TVs but I had 2 x 32 inch Toshiba and both were returned in within a month. Very poor quality built, flimsy and developed faults, small only but there were too many. I will stay away from Vestel TVs, Toshiba is Vestel.

Saying this, Philips does not make Tvs anymore either, so this is probably made by TP Vision. I can't say how good or bad are TP Vision, but can tell you I had 4 TVs made by Vestel and 3 of them (Toshiba and JVC) were rubbish. The 4th one was Acoustic Solutions, Vestel as well, was purchased a very long time ago was used already and lasted me another 10 years. Clearly Vestel started cutting corners and their new TVs are worse than before. For me buying Vestel was the worse purchase ever.
This is a lot of TV for the price, glad I don't need one. Voted hot!

'The thing that makes this tv shine is ambilight...'

I see what you did there, and I like it.
Pros for this TV
- Very good picture for the money
- Ambilight works great, i now have 3 Philips TVs in the house because of that feature
- Sound is decent
Negatives
-Terrible software. Buggy AF and missing lots of features i've added a fire stick which has overcome this. I'd recommend something like that (or apple TV etc) as the native software is very basic
-Its quite deep and the bezel is thick and silver. I came from a 9series samsung and the difference in depth and the bezel make it look uglier when it's off..
Hi everyone. Sorry I know very little about TVs. I have a 55 inch TV at the moment and looking to upgrade to a 75inch in the next few months. My budget is about £1,500. Should I buy something like this TV or wait for OLED and QLED that friends tell me about to come down in price? I don’t watch many movies but do watch sport in HD. Thanks!
Apart from the ambi light (which is pretty cool)
Surely sony xf9005 /samsung q70r at 65 inch be a better option?
Upscale /motion /contrast /smart features etc all important factors.

The Hisense doesn't have ambilight. Once you've got used to any Philips ambilight TV, everything else is second best.

Agreed. Both Amibilight products (replacement by insurance) are rubbish software.

This is very true, i am waiting for the new 2020 philips 855, just hope it comes in a 75" option! 🤞
I had the 65" 7304 costco deal for £750, but unfortunately it had issues with the ethernet port not working correctly, and the picture had a terrible halo effect that put me right off! But had it free for 3 months Hopefully, the newer models will have overcome this!
If the newer models has the picture quality of a Sony Bravia, with all the philips Ambilight features, it will be my dream tv!

Thank you for this invaluable information. Although, the only thing is, Amazon don't give you a 5-6 year guarantee as standard. But thank you non the less. It will be very interesing to see what the motion blur is like compared to the 7304. I do hope there is no halo effect!

Personally I am not sure, I the 8 series are the 'better' range, but the 7 series 75 is bigger

Some reviews and comparisons below - I never use the TV speakers, always use soundbar or separates - so I just got for the best screen and size possible for the money and ignore the sound reviews, good or bad.

Might be preorder... problem is, now i dont know which one to get...
70pus7805 seems good value and is the VA panel going to be better than ips on that size?
Or do i go 75pus6754 for 900, or 75pus7855 for 1000. I wont go 70pus8545 because its pretty much the same as 65pus8204 but a fortune more

Mmm, i am not sure either, i would rather have the latest model, features, & FW updates, than older models.

Obviously the 8 series are better than the previous 7 series, so i do believe the 70pus8545 is the latest version from the list above.
I am still waiting to see what the 70PUS8555 has to offer, but haven't seen any specs yet.
Let's just hope Philips gets their finger out, to get these to the masses!

The 8545, or even the 8204, is very temping to say the least, but for now, i am holding out for the 8555!

My girlfriend have seen the samsung ru8000 82inch and wants one. She said she will pay me half so thats a choice i have...ambilight 70inch for 800, 75inch for 900 or 82inch samsung for "800" with no ambilight... god... i cant decide
Forget samsung! You'll be pulling your hair out with bixby listening to your every word! Unless you can find a way to completely uninstall it for good!
But it's your personal opinion. Just think of the Amazing setup you could have with the philips, Good luck in your decision
