Philips AMBX Advanced Interactive Gaming Lighting System + Philips AMBX Expansion Pack (29.98)

Feel the game!
Discover the new way to experience the full force of PC games. With amBX your room becomes part of the action thanks to a new range of PC gaming peripherals that takes the game beyond the screen and gives you a more immersive gaming experience!
With two integrated motor drives and variable rotation speed, the wrist rumbler enables gamers to actually feel movement in the game, experiencing the action through vibration. The rumbler is used to atmospheric effect to recreate the vibration of an engine â€" in a racing game, or flight sim, say â€" or to mimic unseen footsteps just off screen in an adventure. Compact, adjustable and with variable rotation speed, the desk fans allow both slow and fast airflow, up to 5,000 RPM - simulating a variety of in-game experiences. These include wind, collision impact, acceleration, velocity, airflow from an airplane propeller or a draught under a door â€" or even a drop in ambient temperature.

Add the vibration and air effects to your Starter or ProGamer kit. Only for use with the Starter kit and ProGamer kit

Great , love it , own one and wouldn't be without it now - even if new game support is non existent, the unit is still superb and works with all games(just not as well as the true ambx ones), media players etc, or just as ambient lighting.
I strongly suggest you download this - Aurora Synesthesia - ]http//ww…=15 it is superb.
You may have to fiddle a bit to make it work on windows7 but there is a complete walkthrough on their forums and it is relatively easy to fix.

Always liked the idea of these, but never been sure enough to splosh my dosh! I take it the fan addons only work with AMBX games?

Philips AMBX Expansion Pack - Rumble Strip and Fans now OOS

Hmm, what happened to the fan/rumble/lights bundle link? Seems to be broken now.

Ah I see, out of stock. That was quick.

I took a punt on these a few weeks ago have always wonder what they would add but being unwilling to pay any like the RRP when they first came out,i have to say they really do add a extra dimension to gaming and movies
playing something like just cause 2 and having the ambiant light from sunset/rise splashed all over your back wall is really cool,I also game a lot with the lights out so having these on also helps reduce eye strain no end, best £25 ive spent on my PC for a long long time

Heat and recommended

the fans and rumble strip work with about 3 games from 2005 and the lights only work with dx9 games. dx10 and dx11 is not supported at the moment. I have 4 sets

Then you must be doing something wrong, because mine works with ALL games, albeit without a ambx script. The supplied software generates its own effects from the colours on screen.

Ah, no dx11 - it's these that don't work for me (although on the amBX forum most of the people and the mods can't get them working even in dx9)

battlefield bad company 2 dx11
STALKER Call of Pripyat dx11
Aliens vs Predator dx11
Bioshock 2 dx10
dragon age dx10
Beat Hazard

humm not sure about support for DX11 (i havent made the leap yet not impressed by the 400 series power draw and heat & i think ATI still has major head way to made with its divers and dev relations)

But just to let you know that Dragon age is not a DX10 game engine & btw i just finished Bioshock2 last week and played it from start to finish using the DX10 renderer with Ambx lighting(and a great addtion to the atmosphere it was too) I also didnt have any problem with Just cause II (DX10 only game engine) as most PC games these days are just DX9 console ports & DX10 & 11 support even now are few and far between for £25 id say these lights will do wonders for most main stream PC gamers id hate to play without them now
