I had the Philips amBX Starter kit as a Christmas present so went searching for some add-ons and found this on play.com, best price i could find.

Could someone tell me whether the amBX system is compatible with the PS3 though?
i don't play many PC games!

It isn't compatible with the PS3 - not yet anyway, there's a version coming out apparently that will be.

I have the lights, was considering buying this, but I've read the fans and vibration strip are a bit naff... I do like the lights though.

Having read a few forum topics it appears that most titles only support the lighting effects. Many are incorrectly listed as fan and rumble compatible.

Price is good though...

a new version... so it won't be compatible with the current gen amBX … a new version... so it won't be compatible with the current gen amBX system then?

Not as I understood it.... but maybe they'll be able to just release it with firmware to enable existing sets - I can't really see what else would be needed, all that's missing at the moment on PS3 is the software and drivers to run it so that's all it needs.

But they get to sell more if they release a 'super duper PS3 version' I suppose.

I know the site says the rumble and the fans are not really supported much but does the software work to simulate it for use in non supported games?
