Does it come with DAN aerial?

Looks like you need this accessory and a seperate DAB aerial.

I bought last year philips for £99 from Halfords with mp3 disk playback, usb, iPod, dab and dab+ and yes it was with magnetic antenna with 4 meter wire. So i don't think you need any extra antenna. Also you don't need any extra cable to connect your new player to your car if you know DIY. Halfords salesman will try to sell connection cable for £15 which is already inside your new player. You might need to do DIY with the cable came with philips in case your saved preset won't stay there on restart of your car next time. Just look into your car's manual for wiring diagram and philips diagram. I did mine on peugeot 206 with change wiring position on philips connector cable as per car wiring diagram. Hope this will help you all.

According to the Philips website this doesn't come with DAB but needs and extra accessory to make it DAB

Not DAB.

Yep, same as what moneybag says to confirm, only DAB Ready so need the CAB50/05 AND an Aerial as the add on doesn't have one, the CAB50/05 is about another £25, plus the cost of the Aerial....

It needs an extra accessory (listed above) I have this And you'll need a DAB aerial if you don't have one, not steering controls either

this is only £30 in Halfords store

Will this go into a 2007 VW Passat?

All u do if it doesn't save ur presets when u switch off the car is to swap the live and nuetral leads around on ur car loom or the loom that comes with the stereo. Don't buy any extra loom cos its a rip off

Please don't do what richje100 states. Instead swap the red lead and the yellow lead around on the power plug running to the back of the head unit. One is permanent 12V for storing presets. The other one is a switched 12V so that the head unit switches off with your car ignition.

What this guy says!!!!

If your going to change your radio, for pete's sake get one with bluetooth.
You can even get an app to auto answer if your phone doesn't support it natively.
I can't believe my eyes when I still see muppets on their phones while driving

I think you need to go and learn what the wires do!!

Permanent 12v which stores the stations and a temporary 12v live that provide power to the unit need swapping as Heed 20 says!

Is this the unit that recent had the adapter to provide DAB included for £60 free a couple of months back?

49 quid and yes it is the same one, but you had to reserve online to get the DAB adaptor free. The adaptor for my daughters one is still sitting on the dining room table waiting for me to fit it...and a DAB aerial :-/

How much did your brother cost?

just picked one in Worcester ... £28.80 (I've also used my discount card which they applied twice :-) ) ...

Not a DAB radio as advertised though

I bought one of these today but it is not saving my radio presets and there isn't a yellow wire at the back of my radio. i1342.photobucket.com/alb…jpg

You do realise that pretty much every single car is different right?

Sure you can do it yourself if you want to spend an hour chopping cables and risk breaking your new shiny stereo. Definitely a case where the few extra pounds are worth it

Funny name for a brother Aswell, where do you come from Therewell?

Just the job for those people that bought the Dacia Sandero deals.
Also about wiring I thought all cars had universal DIN connectors now, so are people saying it is not fitted with a DIN plug just loose wires?

it has the two normal bog standard ISO sockets on the rear of the radio, plus there's two matching ISO plugs with trailing leads about six inches long, if needed, included in the package. The aerial socket is old school DIN though, so you may need a DIN-ISO aerial adaptor like a did on my daughter's Micra as you don't get one included..

I suggest you Google your car model to find out which wires to swap, there should be an unswitched +12V feed in there somewhere.

amaranaveed1986

Nope, it's only about 3 inches deep so no CD.

I resisted buying amodern head unit for ages but i couldnt resist this its so cheap for a name brand, standard din socket so i just yanked the old one out and pluged this one in took 2 minutes. it brings old speakers to life as the amp seems quite powerful, also has a sd card slot, only shame is the screen is very dim and you cant really see it in sun if its mounted high as in a mk2 golf. i had an aldi one once and this is souch nicer to use.

awesome stereo for 36 notes!! there's a female USB cable coming out the back of the unit so you can route it out somewhere and use as a charger... also there is a SD card slot under the front fascia which wasn't even mentioned on the box or description I don't think....sounds great too.

Guy whats the score with the dab adaptor, just had a call to say mine is ready for collection. Mentioned the dab bit and the girl said she knew nothing about it, is this a separate item?, does this mean i wont get this, I understand some have managed to get it
