Halfords appears broken (down) for me.

Wait 2 min and try again

A great price but be warned, this does not have DAB radio. You have to spend another £30 on an adapter for this.

Also just to point out the obvious to all, this does not have a standard CD slot.

you failed to mention its refurbished NOT new in your description

Any aftermarket car stereo will be the same. You buy a Wiring harness adaptor to suit your car

No Bluetooth. Cold

Did the so called halfords professionals not offer to fit it?

Every time I try to put an after market stereo in our car, it works but the speedo stops working (so the old one gets put back in).
Any idea how to fix this problem or should we get Halfords to fit it and hope they will fix the issue?

Out of stock

OOS now, message on page saying "Sorry you missed out"

Definitely an electrical issue then. Perhaps your factory wiring loom can't provide enough power and for whatever reason, it also powers the speedo and that conks out. One way to guarantee it will work is to run another power line from the battery, through the firewall and into the car. You then are powering the stereo separately from there, though it may be quite a lot of effort getting it through the firewall (varies from car to car).

This isn't on a Micra or other Nissan I suppose? If so then I had the same problem (the tail lights also stopped working) - due to Nissan using a black wire in the radio loom, which looks and measures like a ground wire, but is in fact the live feed for the radio illumination. Disconnected that and all fine.

I know this problem occurs in some Rovers, when looking at the various wires which came with the headunit, there is NORMALLY an orange wire which stands for illumination, this wire is normally the one that disturbs the speedometer, have a try removing it and see if it makes a difference.

That's a good point actually, so it might also be worth getting a diagram of the factory wiring. Although I would have thought if you are using one of those factory harness to ISO adaptors, the pinout should be correct?

You would hope so on a bespoke adaptor. Probably worth a Google, most marques have specific forums/web sites covering them, I found out about the Micra wiring 'feature' via an owner's forum. Plan B would be to strip back the adaptor wiring (apart from the speaker connector) back to the basic +12V feeds and see if it works with just those.

In a wiring loom, there's a pin feeding speed info for speed-related volume adjustment, the same signal feeds the speedometer, in your radio this pin probably is grounded, so just cut the wire. Pin layout will be in the manual or google it.
