Back at its lowest ever price....BARGAIN DEAL OF THE DAY TOMROROW 2OTH @ RICHER SOUNDS.

The Philips DC146 mini system gives you a CD player, radio, timer alarm and an iPod dock - all for less than £40. How's that for value!

With its fulsome spec and compact dimensions, the Philips DC146 is ideal for a bedroom, kitchen or other second space. From the top down, first you'll find a full function CD player. With CD-RW playback, 20 track programming, repeat and shuffle play, this CD player gives full playback flexibility. Next up is the built-in tuner radio and timer control. Both FM and MW wavebands are onboard and you can store your favourite stations in one of the 20 presets. The timer system includes a clock, sleep timer, radio alarm and CD alarm - everything you need from a bedside or kitchen system. The blue, backlit display is also especially restful if it's to be placed by your bedside.

Moving down the unit, you'll find an amplifier with Dynamic Bass Boost for enhanced richness of sound. There's also both a headphone socket for private listening and a 3.5mm line input for plugging in another source. If all this wasn't enough for your fifty quid, the DC146 also throws in an iPod dock! Play and charge your iPod through the built-in cradle and control the basic functions via the Philips remote control.

Wrapping off this tempting package is a pair of separate speakers. A bass reflex design gives these speakers added punch, especially at lower volumes. With its full remote control and slick panel layout, accessing the DC146's functions is easy. Despite its low price, it's not a bad looker either.

So, for less than the cost of a tank of petrol in a Mini you can get all this. What's not to like!

depends on how sensitive your speakers are, my old wharfedale floorstanders didn't need more than 5watts to annoy the neighbours, ~25+ and it wasnt comfortable to listen to

Bought this for my son's bedroom, but tested it in my mum and dads living room with my ipod touch and a couple of cd's. Very impressed with the sound quality and volume. Will be great in a smaller bedroom or even in the garden with his mates. The ipod connectors are a little tricky to click into place, but once in, no issues ;-)
Buy one quick and enjoy...

Just been instore and bagged one! Brilliant price for a handy lil kitchen system

looks cracking for 30 squids will be going to cardiff tomorrow, anybody know if the iphone will work in offline mode so that the phone is deactivated but ipod still works..

It doesn't mention it, because it doesn't have DAB
Just bought one (last one in Norwich, sorry folks) and was quite disappointed thanks to your post.

Urgh, thanks. I'll email my brother (who fancies one)..I did too, to replace an old Aiwa boombox in the kitchen, but it's only useful to me with USB as I don't have an ipod (I use my phone as an mp3 player).

Bought on from Notts store and it's installed in my kitchen and will replace my BT Internet radio. Cmsimc is right, the iPod connector was a right pain to fit but it works beautifully with a 3rd gen iPod Touch. Its not mega loud but it looks good, sounds goo and I as cheap as chip so I can't complain.

As for the 'lack' of DAB, using an iPod touch and the superb Tune-In app, I don't need DAB!

It does have an aux-in, so you could possibly connect it to a phone.

Unsure whether a Desire HD would work with it, to be honest. Great deal regardless though.
