Sainsbury's are doing 11 Watt Energy Saver Bulbs (equiv. to 60 watt) bayonet fixing for 0.99p each. However, if u buy 5 then they are 0.10p each. I bgt 10 for a 'squid', that's a saving of £8.90!

10 year life my elbow! I've got a house full of these wretched energy saving light bulbs and I've had just as many failures as from conventional bulbs.

Also, there's no way 11w is equivalent to 60 watts, more like 40w in my experience, if that.

These also have mercury in them, when millions of small amounts of mercury find their way to landfil our descendants won't be thanking us. It's back to incandescent bulbs for me!

Good price for bad rubbish.

good price for the product = heat.
debateable green issues.

I get these free from my electrical provider each year. You sure it not from them..?

The reason you get these free each year is that they dont last ten years and they have to keep topping you up. - I am a green advocate solar power and water etc but i have gone through many bulbs that have lasted just a few years - not quite as green as they make out depite the lower electric costs - but i guess there here to stay until the next technological development. still voted hot though at £0.10p EACH cant really go wrong
