what appliances does this wattage work with? It confuses me a little. Bedside lamps? I need to get some lamps and bulbs for my new place.

I use one of these as my main ceiling light and find it to be fine!

the 11w stated is the actual consumption with a brightness equivalent to a 60W bulb. the maximums for bedside lamps etc. are to do with the heat produced and rated power draw. so if your lamp says MAX 60W, then you can use up to 60W ACTUAL (11W in the case of this bulb...)

Great deal!

I don't suppose any one knows where they have the Edison screw type of this bulb ?
.......For about the same price

some lamps are being sold with weird foreign fittings not the bog basic UK one. You can still get cheap bulbs for them but not so easily. Just a thought ;-)

Ooooh nice one Deano. our local one has them

The philips ones are still 10p in the poundshop. They have both bayonette and e27 screw thread.

Cool Deano ..I checked there on Wednesday ,but the checker says they have plenty in so I will go back .

No worries

Anyone know anywhere doing deals on 26W bulbs? These are equivalent to 150W old school bulbs so the extra power should outway the dimming effect of these new bulbs.

been 5 for 50p for over a year now!

IF you are after the 23w (equates to a 120W normal bulb) energy saving light bulb, Tesco Home Plus in Bracknell are doing a 3 for £1 offer. Whether the offer is available nationwide I'm unsure but the price usually is throughout their stores. When other retailers offer their energy saving bulbs for sale they normally only include upto the 18watt (100 watt bulbs) versions, so this is a fantastic opportunity.

Cheers Nemesiz. I'll check that out.
