Hot! Got these for £105 a few weeks ago and I love them. Build quality is superb. I mainly use them for gaming and they sound amazing. I’m no audiophile but they’re a huge step up over my previous headphones.
Epic headset. Underrated .
These or DT990's for gaming? Currently using HD600's.
Obscene deal! 🔥
Bought! Time to sell my M50X's just not comfy!

I personally own Fidelio X2HR and HD599 and i prefer Sennheiser for gaming cause bass doesn't exist and mid-highs are crystal clear. They kinda suck for Music, anything other than Rock sounds boring, meanwhile Fidelio are very fun to listen to
Keep in mind they will require an AMP to work properly, if you are going to use on your motherboard or phone the sound will disappoint you. Good thing the sound is balance so no DAC required

How about plugged straight into a Xbox controller?

Works fine here.

I think the X2's are a good contrast to the HD 600's. I'm not too familiar with DT 990's.

Ofc its going to work but don't expect to get blown away plugging them into a controller or phone

They're very easy to drive. Very sensitive. They don't need a lot of power and they're not the most resolving headphones. I have no complaints using them plugged into the controller.

I got them today and found them really low volume on an xbox one X and ps Pro. Good sound though.

I only tried them for ten minutes as I don't want to get them tarnished as Im going to return them.

Whats amazon like with returns? Do you just pay postage?

I'm using them on a PC with an Xbox One controller via the adapter, 75% is extremely loud with music, 90% is also great with movies. Not sure if it's any different on the consoles. Just do a return, performance not adequate. It's free

Its not like i didn't mention it... not even a motherboard can provide enough power for them to light up

Yet to open mine. Might return. Odd we've got 2 conflicting statements

Lol these work just fine plugged into my PC's onboard audio or phone, there is a slight difference when plugged into my dac but as said earlier in this thread they are very easy to drive. Unless your motherboard's audio chip is very cheap or low powered it'll be fine ran off that.

They might perform better on PC than console but they were pretty low volume on xbox and ps Pro.

I tried them back to back with my lucidsounds and the fidelio was very flat and low in comparison.

You couldn't hear much in relation to foot steps but it was good in other ways. My lucidsounds with dolby atmos, were much more suited to console pvp. Same with the arctis 9x, they were better than the fidelio too, on my set up. But it's personal preferences so try them and see what you think. You might love them.

If I was keeping the fidelio, I'd buy something like the soundblaster g6 as they wouldn't suit me as they are currently.

Id say they are better with music or on a pc with a decent sound card or amp.

Fantastic build quality but just not my thing for console which is what I bought them for.

That's great to hear. Glad you like them. That's why I mentioned that you should try them out for yourself . I just couldn't get the sound right for the games I play and don't want to go to the expense of an amp at the moment. I thought it was just me but @venomous_REAPZZ also felt they needed more driving.
I was using a one X also and just found certain sounds to be lacking while I was really impressed with other sounds. I still think they are a fantastic price and probably will regret returning them at some point
Best of luck with yours though

If you want something for gaming stick to Cloud Alpha, they are better out of the box
Just ordered a pair from Amazon Warehouse

Just ordered a pair from Amazon Warehouse

I had an issue with mine. Headphones are fine, top quality but the cable that came with it was faulty. It seems to have dodgy wiring, sound cuts off and on. I tried them with another headphone cable and they work fine. Amazon have been really good, they are in contact with the manufacturer to get a replacement cable. I'll update when I hear back from them. Bad time of year with closures etc.

I'm still going through my CD's. I really love how comfy these headphones are. I do have to have my volume at max so it may depend on your audio device. Sound is really defined. I was listening to a few classics and noticed a few instruments that stand out more than before. The old 60's songs don't have much more enhancement but you have to expect that with the recording ability at the time. Been going through Phil Spector's hits tonight. I wouldn't say I was blown away with the headphones but i like them. They have a clean distinction through them. I'm still analysing a lot of albums but i'm happy with them so far.
This will be my second pair of these headphones bought a pair from Amazon in February but couldn’t get on with them was using them with an Android phone at the time. Have recently bought a second hand Dac and a Headphone Amp so I’m hoping by using those I’ll get a better idea of what they can do.

Disposable? That's scandalous. I have had replacement cables and pads for these from Philips a while ago so this is obviously a new bs policy.
