Average sound at best. Don't know what the hype is about. They are also bit on a quiet side.

You need to pair them with a dedicated amp; they're never going to be phenomenal when powered by a mobile device... but are a monster with a tuneable amp

I’m a bit fussy with headphones and have found a few Sennheisers quite uncomfortable. Bose QC35s however I can wear for hours. Are these comfy?
    basergorkobal's avatar
They are quite heavy and clamp strongly. Not nearly as comfy as the memory foam based vups on Bose

I had these and sent them back for the Anker Soundcore

If you really, really dislike clamping force on headphones - get the Philips SHP9500 (or SHP9600, preferably the 9500 version). Phenomenally comfy headphones, no pressure whatsoever for glasses users too and sound great.

The headphones listed here are great, but clamping force is a lot more than the 9500.

You can put them over box overnight to stretch

I have them for a while. Amazing headphones. Would recommend AMP with them as on mobile or small player they are bit quiet. Still paired with decent AMP and quality source they will blow your socks off. Highly recommended especially at this price.

Was just about to post this. I've owned this for several years, but earlier this year I decided to use it with my iFi Zen DAC+AMP (1st gen) and WOW. It's like they were new higher-tier headphones!

It's a really great set of cans up to £100, especially with an amp.

totally agree, some good deals on right now with these and the Anker headphones. def a buyers market right now on here!

They're good if you use them with some sort of EQ setting. Little over rated imo, I think paying a little more and getting a refurbished HD560s is the better buy or KSC75 + Better pads and a headband (if you don't mind a little lack of bass)
    rev6's avatar
Depends what you want. If you want more impactful bass and a more spacious sound the HD560s won't interest you as much.

Great headset. Unfortunately it's not wireless.

That’s a positive and not a negative. The ability to use a a good DAC/Amp allows for a better experience.

Brilliant price for a cracking pair of headphones

Absolutely, I bought these last year, and they have been great so far. I use them for gaming and use the Peace Equalizer with them. Cant fault them, especially at this price.

I was expecting some good things when I bought these. I returned within a day. I would have said not much better than some headphones around £50

Every time I see comments like yours, I think to myself, that person bought the wrong product. If your source sounds as good on the Fidelios as it does on a £50 pair of headphones, you really need to invest in a better source. Or your ears are not discerning enough.
These headphones are very transparent so will reveal any flaws your source material and equipment will have.
The original version of X1 came with a rubbish sounding headphone cable. Once swapped the difference was very apparent.

    Insane deal

Lovely headphones for the this price. Need a good DAC and headphone amp to get the most out of them. The Topping DX3 Pro+ would do nicely. Available on Amazon for £199 or cheaper if you're happy to order from a Chinese audio website like ShenzhenAudio. shenzhenaudio.com/pro…ier

I've got mine paired with a Fiio K3 and they sound lovely.

Bought these some time ago and the best I could ask for, these are great on their own an really come to life with an amp. Great built quality.

Only other rival to these are the DT770 pro. But the frequencies really breath on these open back headphones. (edited)
  14. adam_rockon's avatar
You don't need an amp for these.
    rev6's avatar
You do otherwise there's no sound

Amazing headphones. I use mine for work and gaming. So comfortable, generally on my head 8 hours a day.

As others have said, you really want to pair these with a DAC to get the best out of them. I'm using a Fiio K3 which can be bought for under £100 on Amazon.

Thanks MrSwitch, mine came to £75.03 as I paid for the dearer shipping - should be arriving tomorrow amazingly!

This thread evidences the subjectiveness of sound.

The X2 HR are great neutral headphones with an expansive sound stage. If you have a preference for something a little more bassy or crisp, these might not be your thing.

I would say target audience would be someone who:

Prefers resolution over V shaped tonal balance
    Expansive soundstage over noise isolation
    Gamer playing something like Tarkov

A more powerful DAC/amp combo won't just make the headphones louder, but it'll provide better accuracy.
    toge's avatar
they are not neutral, they have a very bright sound signature, very V shaped

but agree the soundstage is excellent especially for playing sweaty fps games (edited)
