Tempted for by the bed ... hmmm

I guess this is getting cold votes because it may still seem expensive, but this is great value compared to RRP and this set is actually cheaper than the single lamp without the bridge...

Heat, thanks.

Thanks - this is a great deal, the Iris is the brighter of the stand alone lamps.

yeah why are these things so expensive??

I hate how you can't separate the starter packs.

ie if you already have lamps, you cant use this one with your existing bridge*

*without some obscure remote from 5yrs ago

Why can't you?

If you don't need the bridge, then the lamp alone is fifty something every couple of weeks. If you're only getting one, I'm not sure there's much point in the bridge - unless you wanted to use it as a wake up light or something specific.

They're locked to the "free" bridge included in the starter pack.

Surely lampstealer app will get it onto your hue bridge

Shouldn't be. You can pair them with different bridges and remotes. It can be a pain till you get the hang of it though.

Definitely aren't locked. I bought the lightstrips a month or so ago when they were cheap on amazon, when they arrived the packaging had split the power cable, I got a replacement sent which had the same thing, so I had to take one from each pack, used lampstealer and they both work off the same bridge now.

Yeah - but you need tools to make it work

Just the bridge and remote.
