Yeah I had her from new, but then traded her in for a better model

I have a Bosch unit like this and the limescale built up was an issue. I've descaled the unit and its fine. However reading the manual it asks me to empty the units (not just the tank but the boiler) on each use. Doing this is a bit of a chore, but the iron works perfectly. I've had the unit around 3 years but it has been like this from day 1: If just used and turned off (with water in boiler - tank removed) after 3 - 4 uses it will start spitting water. If I empty the tank and boilers after each use its fine.
Would like to hear how long you had yours (I'm in London = hard water but we have a salt based softner) and amy issues with long term use / descaling
Thanks.
Yeah my mum said that she was a dirty dirty horrid skank!
This MR is an entry level unit. There is no auto cut off etc. The Philips has 3 modes where it will shut down automatically plus rather than use expensive cartridges it lets you clean the boiler. The MR is a much cheaper model. being sold at an OK price. The Philips is a more expensive model that is being reduced. Perhaps Tesco are dumping old stock to make room for new models for Xmas?
Thanks for clarifying.
