Seems a good price.

I think it's a discontinued model now but it was about £180 (top of this range of shavers) when it was being sold a year or two ago.

do any of these ever shave as well as a razor? never ried electric … do any of these ever shave as well as a razor? never ried electric before, thanks

No but the Philips are probably the best electric shavers and you can rinse these under the tap. The top of the range Philips usually have a rrp of around £180 so this is a great price. Voting hot.

Just to let you know that I ordered this yesterday around midday and it arrived first thing this morning, so excellent service from the seller too

First of all, the full price - Delivery is £6.50 total= £64.49

No one seems to be seeing the obvious - Has no-one realised... these are SECOND-HAND! Read the page - it's a plain as day "graded" is what it says, but second-hand is what it means!

I thought the price was too good to be true, and unfortunately it is :-(

While this is getting on toward just a third of the original full price, and therefore ordinarily the right sort of price for a refurb if it was an average electrical item like a DVD player or a camera, it isn't an item like that, its a razor! Unfortunately there are few items I am less likely to buy than a second-hand razor, at ANY price, other than secondhand underwear!

From the description
Brand new, sealed in original retail packaging

So its brand new

I got one of the older versions of this - its over 4 years old and the battery still gives 2 hours shaving time (a reduction of about 10mins from new)

To be honest I nearly convinced myself too, until I did a bit of looking around. Minimal searching shows that this retailer sells on a certain auction site, as "cheapest-elecctrical" and it seems it is not averse to sending out the odd bit of old kit as new, as can be easily seen from the feedback, so be warned. I have had hassles like this before with online purchasing, from retailers that sell both old & new gear, although it was not this particular retailer.

I think I would want confirmation of it's origins, given in mind all the "graded" and for the "cheapest graded goods" splattered all over the site, and even on that particular item's page so it makes it a tad unclear! OK, you can send it back if it isn't new, but who wants the hassle AFTER the event?

Also, the other shavers they have/had has NO such "brand new" description (even for a similar price, eg. cheapestelectrical.co.uk/pro…742 looks to be secondhand!) and most items on the site apart from this are second-hand, so they have no problems in selling second-hand razors!

I am after a new Philishave at the moment, as the trimmer on mine has busted, but I think that I will wait until the next offer comes along as I can use a beard trimmer in the meantime - as we see on here, good deals on Philishave razors come along fairly often.
