Thanks for the input. I really do not understand these things tbh. Someone …Thanks for the input. I really do not understand these things tbh. Someone told me to get 5.1 channel as the sound tends to be better.

3.1 is fine if you are just a casual tv/film watcher.
If you want a deeper and immersed experience, then 5.1 is better, especially if you enjoy a good movie etc.
I have had a 7.1, but to be honest, it didn’t float my boat much more than the 5.1.

You said you didn’t understand.....
let me try and clarify.
A “normal” tv, for example, is a 2channel system. Left, and right. Imagine a scene where you are in the back seat of a car looking forward:
This allows for dialogue for two people even off screen, to converse, eg a man on the left you hear from the left speakers, a woman on the right you hear from the right speakers. It’s realistic... but when a truck crosses your path, you may hear it in the left.... then suddenly in the right. Ok, but not too realistic.
Now: 3.1 means there are 3 channels (Left, right and centre). plus a separate bass speaker.
The benefit is that you will now hear that same truck “move” smoothly from the left, across the middle in front of you, and over to the right. Much more realistic..... until.....
5.1 now adds another dimension.....
2 more channels BEHIND you!!!
So now you can “follow” that truck with your ears as well, when it passes in front of you, like before, and then turns right...... passes your right hand side, so now diagonally behind you..... then turns right again so crossing your rear, and right again, closing the square as it approaches over you left shoulder and comes back into view on your left, and back in the front left speaker!!!!
7.1 adds another 2 speakers (now 7 plus the bass), which are to be situated directly to your left and right, to bridge the “middle” gaps between front and rear.
I probably could have brought up a google picture to explain that but all this social distancing is making me lonely and I’ve got nobody else to talk to!!!!

Thats a good price! 🔥
I've got one, even on lowest setting the bass is way too high
I have one, there are only three equalizer settings which isn't enough. It's OK because it matches my TV but if it didn't I would look elsewhere.

I'm tempted, there's good reviews on both Amazon and Costco, plus the bass level can only be based (no pun intended) on the individuals perception and the size/shape of the room it's in so will differ to you.

I got the Philips HTL3310/10 free with the recent offer on Amazon
hotukdeals.com/dea…511

The speakers were not that bad but as many stated it has the issue of losing connectivity with woofer, mine got the same within 5 days tired all the tricks mentioned online but it never connected to the soundbar and had to return it.

How are these in terms of the wireless woofer & soundbar connectivity?

My word, I got a Phillips sounds bar a few years ago, it was 300 odd at launch but I got a warehouse deal etc for under 200. It's a 2.1 system and the sound quality was fantastic. Big down side, it loses connection to the sub very often. If it didn't have that fault it would be amazing.

The old unit has 7 levels to tweak bass and treble and a very weak 3d sound mode. Shams this model seems to have the same problem and even less eq setting

Thank you so much! Will def go with 5.1 🏼 Social distancing is not a lot of fun. 😷
I ended up buying this, I think it sounds great, I don't think the bass is too loud and on the lowest setting it's practically off so don't agree with that comment. No BT drops on the sub over the last week so all good so far
