Hi, please go easy this is my first deal. Argos are currently doing £30 off when you buy the hue 2m lightstrip and 1m extension together. Cheapest I have seen the 2m is on amazon for £55 so £5 extra for the 1m seems good to me

These regularly go to £50 on amazon on prime day or Black Friday and other promotions too. No time machine I know but it's been cheaper quite frequently over the last few years. More a heads up for those in future than anything.

Is that for both 2m and 1m package?

Last black Friday went to £44.99, previous prime day and black Friday £50.

This is still a great price though if you have a requirement now

Good news, annoyingly I need 4m so looking for a deal on a 1m extension
I bought 10m if this. It’s lovely above the cupboards but it has a high pitched whine which is annoying. If you hear high frequencies it might bug you.

I’m collecting mine this evening and installing over the weekend. I’m hoping there is no noise from them. Yours must look great with 10m. I’m putting mine at the bottom of my kitchen cupboards
Pretty good deal. I've got 2 of the extensions that I got for £7 off Amazon and been waiting for the 2M to come to a good price before I buy.
I think these are quite low quality compared to the rest of the Hue range though. I'm only planning on having it in entertainment area as it links up better compared to third party alternatives.
I'm going to buy a different brand for kitchen area later though.

Mine doesn’t make a noise. Or of it does I can’t hear it.

Amazing piece of kit

My hue kitchen hu10s do this when off, drives me mad, have to have the lights on. Same as those awful cat bleepers, I can hear them from 5 doors down

I’ve heard the old gu10’s do this but thought newer ones didn’t. I want to get the gu10 bulbs as well in future so would be interesting to hear people’s experiences

I love mine and have a few rooms with them but on some of them I do hear high pitch whines on certain colours on one difficultly placed one

Your post has just outlined to me that camelcamel is clearly inaccurate. I got it for 49.99 in July 2018 and it doesn't show that price at any point then.
Ok here’s the greatest Hue lighting tip ever. In the evenings if you have the windows open set the lights red. Flies, mossies etc are not attracted to red light.
I did a test one room blue and one room red. Blue was full of pesky flies and red had none.
It makes sense as at the butchers the fly zappers are always blue light.
Hope that helps you have a bite free summer :-)

Philips led bulbs do this as well, best avoided when the ASDA equivalent is silent

my new gu10 colour ones making high pitch noise when turned off, they're in a kitchen so doesn't bother me but for the price they should be dead quiet

Mine are the new shorter ones too, ambiance I think. I wonder if it’s because they are grouped - I have many hue lights, in every room, and these are the only ones to buzz
I had a fake one that left sticky stuff on back of TV...the wife's name is not Tee Vee

Yep, I got four of the 2m kits, two of them are in my living room and each have an additional 2 and 3 1m extensions to wrap it around the living room skirting boards. When they display anything above warm white, the power box whines really quite audibly. A known issue, although some people say it doesn't happen to theirs.

I think it only happens when you extend a 2m strip to a certain point, and it certainly is affected by the light colour and brightness. You'll get away with probably hearing nothing at 50% brightness, or try not to use white colours.

I have mine controlled by a Hue app on my Windows 10 PC which basically acts like that new gadget they've brought out so the lights replicate the TV screen. I have to make sure the lights never go above 50% or the whine comes and goes.

Thanks for the info, looking forward to trying mine out. I’ve got 2 colour bulbs from the bt deal on here, a hub and two white bulbs from the scan deal and now these. Going to be linking them to my ambilight tv

Are they on a dimmer switch at all?
It's an Ok price if you need one right away. However, they regularly go below this for the 2+1m.

An updated version of the lightstrip has also just leaked, so I expect these to go much lower as they're reduced to clear.
