Are these Alexa compatible or do you need a hub?

It says in the description that they need to connect to the Philips Hue Bridge which i'm assuming is the Hub, which is sold seperately

You need a Hue hub then it will work with Alexa
You need the hue hub
Pretty sure the 3 for 2 is still on at Currys? £12.49 each if I remember right.

If you have the echo plus you don't need a hue hub, if you have the original echo or echo 2nd gen then you will need a phillips bridge
General smart lighting question, if I may - I'm just trying to get into this, I have a 1st gen Echo and picked up a Hue hub on offer. The lighting in my main room uses 3 of the R50 bulbs currently. I haven't seen anything in this size, so I'm assuming I'll need to replace the light fitting before I would be able to make use of this. Unless I have missed a compatible bulb that would fit?
My echo plus can see the Phillips bulb that came with it as a promo. Seems another step to actually get it to turn on and off with my voice though. The plus has an inbuilt bridge to get around having additional devices to hook things up.

You need to ask Alexa to enable the Phillips hue skill

Yeah, done that one too. Still not playing ball. I’m moving house tomorrow so I’ll have another play when I’m all set up in there and have more time over Christmas. Until then I’ll stay manual haha.
I think John Lewis still have them at £22.48 for three. There is a £2 click and collect charge if spending under £30. Still a little cheaper though.

Also Alexa really doesn't like numbers in smart device names when giving commands.
Hi everyone, can you guys and girls please tell me if I can use this with Hive Hub? Thanks for your time.
Waiting for the white ambience to drop as not fan of warm white

The hubs are being sold for £25.99 on amazon at the moment. Good deal if u don’t have one
Seems to not work on 3 for 2 if adding 2 screw type and 1 bayonet. That's bad as doesn't say must all be of one type in the terms.
