Hot. £1.35 cheaper than the included bulb on Amazon !
At least they now state that the dimmer switch is not included.

I bought 2 last time they were on offer and added a lead and plug to make nice lamps.

Great deal.

I’ve got two of these sitting around which I was going to hang in the wall as bedside lights on an extension cord! You wouldn’t happen to have a pic of what you’ve done would you?

These need to be wired into electric yeah! You get a backing clip to attach it! But from what I can see you would have to drill the frame to put an extension unless your replacing an existing fitting
Could someone help, are these switched? I want to replace 2x switched lights and of my internet goes I didn't want to be stuck with forever on blubs

Thanks for that @rich139luck can I see from the pic you have drilled an outlet hole and then added a piece of wood for the base?

This gives me an idea now - thank you

If you just want them switched you could take the Hue bulbs out and sell them for much of what you paid for them and then just put in some dumb LEDs gu10s for a couple of quid.

No it doesn't, it says the battery powered remote that you don't get doesn't need wiring.

Thanks for your reply. I mean my existing wall lights are controlled by switches that are part of light, and no separate wall switch. Do these have a physical switch on the light fixture? Thanks so much

What he’s saying is the description is referring to the light switch that is battery operated, but this deal doesn’t include the light switch (that’s another version) but the lamp itself needs wiring into the mains

You can wire these up to an existing light fixture so they will be on your switch! That way; if you kill the switch.. the power won’t be there!

If you have a hue hub, it doesn’t matter if your internet goes down, as it’s local network
These are great. Yes they are to be wired.
Why would anyone think these would work otherwise.
I got 2 last year and use them as wall spots. I used the existing wires.
I had 2 remotes in the boxes too.
But programmed my existing one, you can program them to control several lights, with long presses and taps.
This has allowed me to use them both in other rooms.

Yes it does, it is an electrical light fitting. The dimmer switch is the item that doesn't need wiring.

They should, the last deal they had stated they came with the dimmer but most were missing. They obviously still have left over stock that are missing the switch.

When they first started selling hue products, Screwfix messed up and were selling the spots inclusive of a switch at the same price as the ones without. I bought 20 for my kitchen, used 15 of the switches as I was converting the whole house to Hue. Also used a 10% off code. Saved a good £500 on that deal and recouped another £100 by selling on the unused switches.

The Hue app or an additonal wireless dimmer switch control these so replacing your lights with built in switches is fine, providing you have a Hue hub set up already?

Brilliant thank you. I have a bridge already so sounds good. I didn't realise I didn't need my WiFi for these to work.
Thanks again

Should be no more than a 3 amp on something like this

3 amps?! As per calcs fuse you need is 0.02 amps. So in reality 100mA is way more than required!

I do not know electrician shopping in Asda for fuses! That's new! Try instead RS or specialist shop or even better, get specialist to do that work, might save you life!
