I have the v1 of this bridge, should I update to this v2 or stay with the one I have? TIA

Unless you have a massive system or have a lot of automation or use Hue Sync, I don't think there's a significant reason to upgrade at the moment.

Keep an eye out for v2's on second-hand marketplaces though.

Often starter kits are a cheaper way to buy colour bulbs than just buying the bulbs separately, so people sell off the spare bridges.

What are the chances of this hub becoming redundant when Matter is introduced later this year? Tempted to get one but not sure I need another hub in the house.

I had the same thought. Been waiting for Matter (a new smart home standard) Add that to the fact that Amazon’s ‘new product week’ begins on the 28th Sept and I’m thinking I may hold off on smart home purchases for a little while.
