Yes thats what I thought I wanted. However I discovered I was mainly switching them off and on by amazon echo rather via automations on hue. Using echo groups such as "As switch off downstairs" or "Switch off entire house". The big expensive hue ceiling lights are great and I have them on my landing and bathroom where its important I get a lot of light. Other places the cheapo chinese lights are doing ok so far. Worried I will forget how to reset the chinese ones though as its a bit of a faff and will lose the instructions as the years go by. I would avoid hue bulbs unless you like living in 1950's style
If I was rich I would have Hue ceiling fittings everywhere. (edited)
Moved to their expensive ceiling light fittings and to some ali express cheapo ceiling lights I need to sell all my bulbs on ebay at some point. (edited)

I've gone the other way and binned off all my Xaiomi lights for hue - wanted one app for everything. But am considering integrating Ikea bulbs into my setup now

I just use Home Assistant now for pretty much every smart light or plug etc. Takes a bit of setting up and not for everyone but it works really well.
They aren't mega bright but I find them bright enough. I guess it depends on the number of fittings and how far apart they are too. I would say my Hue lights are just as bright as other bulbs I've had. The new versions are brighter of course
Mine are heavily automated to come on at dusk and go off at 11pm or sunrise. Plus integration with Flic buttons
The new hue light switches have not seemed to take off yet. I need to source one to try i think (edited)
