Good deal just bought it myself this morning. You will be able to flog the bridge for £30 easily aswell, if you don't need it. So two colour hue bulbs for £37.99, not bad at all.

I just finally gave in, I have to extend my Philips Ambilight TV effect!
Note, you linked to the E27 set, most uk ceiling rose type bulbs are B22 here: currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

Yes but most table/floor lamps are e27

A converter can be bought online to change from one type of bulb holder to another
Ah the lights work great but my Philips 50PUS6703/13 Ambilight TV isn't finding the bridge. Bummer

I had same issue.

Do you have a BT Homehub per chance?

If yes, disable smart set up first.

Then, regardless of router type, disable WEP, even if you’re on a wired set up.

That fixed it for me, and I have the 6272 50”.

Good luck.
Absolute bargain. Instabuy at this price.

First I think but still worth it

I believe you mean second, richer colours but without bluetooth? Because gen1 without richer colours are useless.

Im using NOWtv and their router. Will have a play with the settings, fingers crossed you're the saviour I need

How can I find this out?

Based on the pic on the page it is at least 3rd gen (gold font colour on the bulb). When you receive the item it should also say richer colours on the packaging (there is no pic of the packaging on the page).

Definitely not 1st gen as the hub would be round not square.

Would anyone mind humouring a newbie by any chance? Only just got Philips pus8204 and want to extend the ambilight to lamps, ceiling lights etc, am I right in thinking this is the correct set up? Depending on light fitting of course

Yes, you need the bridge and lightbulbs, and you can extend the tv Ambilight to wherever you have the bulbs placed.

Set up the bulbs first via the app on your phone, and then go to your tv and search for the bridge and once found, it will guide you through setting the bulbs up for ambilight.

You could be part of that 1% like me who can't get their TV to find the damn bridge, so frustrating

I don’t have the need for Bluetooth anyways. I’m Shooty having the older version.
What's the intensity of the bulbs compared to the newer version

Don’t need Bluetooth if you have a bridge. This also works with Zigbee

Ah would you look at that, fiddled with the app, and lamps ain't coming up on my TV again
anyone received this.
I got mine today - in a brown cardbox box very OEM and no retail packing.
The bulbs seem used and have scratches all over.
When I try to tranfer my old hub the app tells me the new hub has been used and have to reset it before using.

Brown looking box with a Philips sticker.

Raise a complaint if it looks like it's been used before!
