I’ve been looking for these for awhile and if you need a minimum of 8 works out a great price! Amazon Prime Day worked out at £44.99 for 3 Bulbs so £14.99 each.

I believe you can also mix and match these with other packs.

I know there are cheaper alternatives but this is a great price for the product!

Good deal but no availability anywhere for collection and delivery not available...
Shame, looked like a decent deal otherwise.
I just paid about the same to get second hand ones on primeday. Nice.
Aside from no availability (Currys seem to do these offers that nobody can get quite often) the price stated is not correct. You need to buy four packs of two, which is far more than £38.22.
Curry’s are so irritating.....what’s the point in having an offer on with ZERO availability?!

Illegal but they probs my have stock somewhere.
For GU10 bulbs I go with Innr. They're good quality and very good value. You never see them here because they take down any deal posted because they're not a UK seller, despite everything going through Amazon. Vesternet often have good prices on Innr bulbs.

Ikea GU10s aren't too bad either, although I've not tried the tunable ones.

I think you are confused, maybe they have one in stock like every other shop but not 4 so you can’t order them

anyone linked the ikea smart lights to their Hue set up? ive only got yeelights but looking for yeelights in spot/down lights but can't seem to see any.

so im thinking next best option is to get a cheap hue hub, and then get the ikea lights.

Yes I have.

They connect and work OK, but bare in mind that the white ambiance bulbs only have three steps for shades of white, not variable like hue bulbs. Likewise for the coloured bulbs - colours are stepped not seamlessly variable. Also, IKEA bulbs won't get firmware updates without using the IKEA hub.

But apart from that, they are good alternatives.

Thanks for the response. So I'd need both hubs, connected all the time?

No. IKEA bulbs will connect and work with the hue hub fine.

But if IKEA issue a firmware update as happens now and again, your IKEA bulbs won't get it. It may not matter, but it's a consideration to be aware of.

Last question (famous last words lol) but how easy is it to connect the ikea bulbs, switches etc to the hue hub? Is it plug and play or abit more faffing involved. I mainly just want our upstairs hallway to be smart and work with sensors.

So if I'm going upstairs at night, as soon as I hit the stairs on the gf, it'll switch on and then maybe 5 minutes later auto switch off. Plus put a sensor outside the bedrooms so it auto ons/off at a low dim during the late night so doesn't disturb people with the light.

If probably need 4 to 8 spot/downlights and 1 or 2 e14 bulbs.

And then connect it all to Google home and job done.

Thanks. PM me if you don't want to derail this thread. Thanks

It's easy. It's all done through the app. Switch on the bulb or sensor, and there is an option to detect the item, and any new items will be discovered and you then rename and add them to your set up.

I'm not sure of the current arrangement for the ikea bulbs and devices, as they may well be detected too nowadays. I did all mine a good while ago, and it was slightly different in that still using the app to discover, but just needing to press the button on the hue hub and turn the bulb on at a certain time as an additional step.

Use the Philips sensor for your plan above as its more refined than the IKEA one - different shades of white on activation, time settings and dimming before switching off.
dont argos have a better deal 8 for 80?

I've just watched a couple of videos. Seems simple enough hope hue don't stop tradfri being used on their system.

I'm also looking into getting smart switches and leaving the bulbs are they are. So I can smart some of my home with switches and others with bulbs. I've accepted I'll need a hub but I've got a 'server' room with plenty of ethernet ports so that's fine.
They're actually showing as £33.99 now, but as other have said no stock in the 36 nearest stores :O
Do the hive gu10 bulbs work with hue?

I stand corrected - apologies (I've removed the mention of somewhere actually having stock so as not to get anyone's hope's up!)

Yeh sorry was in a bad mood earlier after arguing with Curry’s about why they couldn’t split order! They are dumb

They normally have a deal at that price, but it is for the white bulbs, not white ambience i.e. you can dim them, but they are stuck at (I think) a temperature of 2700K.
I bought the Argos warm gu10 hues the other day to replace some cool kitchen bulbs. I now prefer cool in that room so wanted these and will use the Argos ones elsewhere. Sadly this deal seems a no go.
Just purchased my first hue bulbs, just the basic white ones and impressed with the app and functionality so far.

Like others I think it will be a slippery slope buying more and more.

Do I really need the coloured ones? Do I want a purple or green room?!

Do people who have bought the coloured ones actually use colours or keep them white?

I use colours. You'll be surprised at the difference it makes not just to the room, but your mood whilst in it.

The key thing is that you can't just change the bulb in the main light or a lamp and expect to get the true effect. You need to have several lights around the room to actually light it all up - normally different, or slightly different tones around the room, to light the area, light the wall, and to use shadows.

At the very least though, get the ambiance bulbs. Then say, if it's a bit dark but daylight outside you can set the bulbs to daylight and no yellow tones and the room is nice and bright. Then at night you can have a bright but yellow tone, or a more warmer yellow as the night draws on and it settles you down and relaxes you.

We have two coloured bulbs in two bedrooms. We never use any colours. Kind of tempted to move them to the living room and try them with the Ambilight TV instead.
This code works on other Hue items but be aware it doesn't give the discount for multiple hue items in your basket even though it should. I had to call currys to get the partial refund.

Eh?

Eh?

So I used the code on 2 hue dimmer switches. It only took 10% off of 1 of the switches not both. I called Currys up and they said it's a know problem and have to arrange manual refunds.
