Philips Hue Personal Wireless Lighting System White Starter Kit - £65 delivered @ Freemans

Found 15th Dec 2017
Kit includes: 2 x Bulbs, 1 x Hue Bridge 2.0, 1 x Power Adapter

I’m looking for new lights for my bathroom, these are the cheapest by far I could find. Bulbs alone are £29.99 each on amazon at the moment.

The picture from their website is slightly misleading, as you don’t get everything it shows. Still a good price though.

The picture shows 3 GU10s and a switch.

Wrong picture or wrong description?
Weird that the picture has three bulbs but the description has two. The picture is also of the colour bulbs, and the description isnt. Might be worth buying one in case it is the colour ones that arrive

I'm going to call it and say the website has the wrong image! They have the same image on another offer with b22 in the title, which are the bayonets not the gu10s. I'm sure you would have a pretty decent complaint case though, as they don't define which bulbs so you are perfectly in line to expect gu10s here.
25% off your first order for new accounts apparently - if anyone's interested
Just the standard White Kit, Hub + 2 standard white bulbs cheaper elsewhere.
Terrible website, at least from my phone, still can't beat a good deal. With prob an extra 25% off signing up to a new account. Bringing the price down to approx. £42 heat added
Photo is misleading, shows way more expensive kit.
Hi, are these GU10 doesn't say anywhere?

Excludes electronics.
No idea what this actually includes as there's no such starter kit that includes 2 x GU10 White Ambiance and a Bridge?!

Ah OK. Just saw a pop-up when I followed the link. Didn't bother to read it closely as I wasn't actually interested in buying anything.

Sorry if I caused any confusion
Spoke to someone on live chat, and they are the colour bulbs!

Maybe not worth the risk tbh. I’ve just spoke to them and the only information they have is what’s on the website - about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! They did say you have 14 days to return if they are not correct. Ah, I see someone has just spoke on live chat and told they are the colour bulbs, so I dunno!!

Here is a copy of my chat transcript

11:02:39 [Visitor] Looking at buying the Hue starter kit as a christmas present, but the image does not match the description. Is it just white bulbs or is it the colour bulbs as in the picture? Product 33W178WFS

11:08:36 [Danielle] Sorry, I have just re-checked this and confirm the outer of the Bulbs is white but the actual bulbs are coloured and can change.

Lol, the treacherous icy conditions outside really delayed me this morning.

If you're interested in GU10, then probably go for the £26 Hub on Amazon and then bulbs from IKEA (£7 for Dimmable/Warm White, £12 for dimmable/white spectrum).

I'd say wrong image as well. The kit in the picture is £169 @ Argos.

If the hub you mention is Philips hue, you might need to buy the Ikea hub as well. This is to update the gu10s to the latest firmware. Without the newer firmware the hue hub won't pick them up. I know I've had to do it last weekend when I bought the Ikea gu10s to added to my hue setup.
GU10 starter kit is listed on the website highly unlikely to be those then Ive just cancelled mine

The £7 ones will work as they only have the firmware that supports Hue, I got some 1727 ones and have been using them almost 2 months now. The £12 ones though, you probably need 1733 ones, although I've seen a lot of people saying anything past 1730 is Hue compatible.
The £7 I bought must have been old stock. I read that when they use to be ZigBee Home Automation (ZHA) profile and not ZigBee Light Link (ZLL) Ikea issued an update to make them ZLL. After I updated the firmware they were fine.
As everyone else says this is just the starter kit for the basic white bulbs
which has been around the £65-£75 mark for ages
The bulbs have been on 3 for 2 deals too recently, picked up 6 of these bulbs off Amazon last week for £39 total and you can get the hub for £25-£30 mark these days.
Sorry, but as much as I love hue products this is not a deal.

Haha, would have been an excellent price for what’s the pictured.
Unavoidable and shows basic white E27 bulbs now.
my god, had the most laughable of conversions with them when trying to cancel. Even though the items been delayed till end of January, No guarantees of cancellation (even though I requested it). Theres no way of tracking progress. It could still turn up. Also no way of tracking when the item will be returned. What a palava. Its almost easier saying keep the money and don't bother sending the item... anyone else had the luxury of speaking to them. Oh and they didn't really seem bothered that the ad was incorrect.
