Thanks mod for adding pic.
nice one, even better than the Warehouse deals
Total hue novice , do you need any other kit to make these work or is it app based? We have an echo dot

I'm a noob to hue too, but from what I'm learning you'll need the bridge for full functionality. Roughly £40 on Amazon.
Currently if you want it to synch with tv/blu ray etc for tv then you’ll need to run the signal through pc or third party app. The hue hdmi sync box is due for release in the UK Jan-20
You can pick up a brand new hub on eBay for £20

Read somewhere the Sync box is released tomorrow.

I was so hyped about the Sync Box, but from what I've read...it may not be for me yet. Too many things to iron out. Having said that, this is a great price for the Play lights, so might get these anyway.
Just so people know the Play Double Packs come with just one power supply unit (PSU) which has three inputs so you can plug three play bars into the one PSU. The Extension Kit has one Play Bar and no PSU. Not a problem unless you want to put the play bars in separate rooms or a long way from each other.

BTW Phillips don't sell separate PSU's separately for these.

Any new release will have bugs etc, the good thing is the Americans can iron out those bugs while we enjoy Xmas.
Come the new year when it appears over here, the HDMI Sync is gonna be a belated Xmas for me

Edit: Looks like it out tomorrow...

Thanks for that, was thinking would be good to position one each behind different sofas and light strip on the TV but now sounds like that idea may not work.

Exactly my thinking, to pick up the hdmi sync when released in UK after the US launch and bugs fixed.

Not sure to be honest. Seems the hardware is lacking in some aspects. I don't expect them to fix it with software. I was really really looking forward to it as well. But don't want something that's out of date before it's even released...especially not for what it costs.

The reviews indicate the odd hiccup with bright lights (quick reboot fixes) and the colours go off now and again.... But who cares, just imagine the looks of the families faces when you're watching stuff on TV over Xmas.... Can't wait, bugs or no bugs, Philips stuff is top notch.
Stop being a grinch Instanbul, just Kop a load and buy it.
Can you use these with the sync/extend feature on a Philips TV with Ambilight like you can with regular Hue bulbs?
would this integrate with Razer Chroma lighting app (some phillips do but I am crap at all the smart home stuff) - the lad wants to integrate for his gaming
Do you need a bridge or anything extra like you do with the light strips? Just want something for behind the tv
Yes you need the bridge.

For the lights to sync with the screen you either need to play via PC or buy the HDMI box when released although expect to pay £200+ just for that!

Great idea but too costly for me atm - I'll stick to my bulbs and strips.

Anyone know how far these would stretch?
Picked up a set, of they're crap can return them easily, much cheaper than normal so hard to pass on

I do really want it.

It was more the lack or HDR 10+ support, and Dolby Vision that I was referring to.

Neither of which my current TV can do anyway. But in the future, I'd want it.

But also, I don't like that it means I can't adjust input settings for each device. Now, all my stuff goes into my receiver, I can set specific settings based on the input for gaming, for 4K, for HDR etc. With the sync box, they'd all be on the one input and would all share the same settings.
I have ordered the sync box, 4 month interest free with PayPal. Can easily spend 50 a month in one night in the pub.

picked up 3 pack of plays, too cheap to pass up. Looking forward to setting it all up.

Guessing that means you're not going to the pub for the next month which just happens to be the best time of the year to head out. 😁

Of course not, just trying to justify spending over 300 on hue stuff today

Where are people seeing it's out today? It's so hard to find news on the thing. I know it's over-priced, but with a new 4K TV and a living room full of Hue Colour bulbs, I'm definitrly going to pick one up.

It will on black Friday
Love the idea of this and the sync box however so disappointed that the box doesn’t support Dolby Vision, especially for its price.
I’ve been browsing the generally bad offers on amazon all week but somehow missed this and I was thinking about some Olay bars for my TV.. doh
