Tempting. Does the extension run off the original set of lights bars' plug? Also can these be fixed underneath a bed for example, as a downlighter?

If you want to have something from Philips hue for underneath the bed I highly recommend the Philips hue light stripes :)! (they’re on offer as well atm)

These bars are more like for a computer or television I would say.

The extension has it’s own plug

Also you would need the Philips Hue “Hub” to make it all work

Extension doesn’t have its own plug it runs from original set.
word of warning the white bars have a black back plate. Really stupid design there!

Was tempted until i saw that!

look at the amazon reviews.
Do you get 3 light bars?
Ordered - also ordered a Bridge v2.0 as I believe I will probably need it - v1, which I have, is unlikely to work (?). Also, there's a v2.1 of the Bridge kicking around but it appears to be the same software version and functionality, but a different configuration of the hardware.

Don't know if you have seen this deal? Might be better for you. I want 2 lights not 3, so im trying to resist buying.

Thanks, you're probably right, two would have been enough really but I can still use the third so I'll keep the order as it is.
I think someone mentioned you need the hue hub with this to get it working. But there seem to be plenty of new ones on sites like gumtree and ebay for £25 to £30. So easy to get hold of.
Does this still only really work with a computer best?
I want XBox functionality

Also works with Xbox if you stream it to the pc via the Xbox Microsoft app (on the pc)

Then your good to go on the tv
hmmm, tempted to get either these or the lights trip but not quite sure what to go for just yet
So tempted but the fact I can only use it through the PC will be incredibly annoying

I caved and bought them, glad i did. Look better than my £15 light strip i had before.
These are quite small
I ended up having 5 hue play and 3M light strip for the 55' TV
3 pack is good but I’d like a light on the the otherside and the wire isn’t long enough. Anyone recommend a safe 3rd party power adaptor or if anyone know of a genuine Philips hue play adaptor let me know. Least if I had a spare I can wait for cheaper extensions to come up.

Not exactly true at all, that’s only if you want to use hue sync. You can use them as normal lights just as you would with the bulbs. All controlled through the bridge and the app on your phone/tablet. Since this deal I’ve started using them more as normals lights than with the PC.
