This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Buy Philips Hue Play Light Bars and get a Philips Hue Play Light Bar Extension Kit free. So it's effectively buy two get one free. Buying three of the single packs (one with a plug) would total £174.97.

Plenty of stock from what I can see.

The deal is only on the Black model unfortunately. I'm holding out for the White.

Store Collection or £3.95 delivery.

Because you get one free.. buying three of the single packs would be £164.97

Edit: As pointed out, the single pack with plug is actually £64.99 so it's more like £174.97.

You need the twin version for the plug, the single one is an extension only!

Ordered, been keeping an eye on this deal and managed to get a delivery. I wasn't going to spend time queuing outside Sainsbury's to collect!

Thanks

Ambient lighting, TV backlight, pair with a hue sync box or the hue sync app and plug a laptop via hdmi you get an ambilight effect with films etc

Check out reddit.com/r/Hue/ for some inspiration.

No harm done, I had forgotten about this deal and thought I had missed out. So I at least appreciated this reminder.
So these need a sync box to mimic ambiligjt?
I've been slumming it with 3 hue bulbs behind my monitor, so I've been keeping an eye out for these. Nice deal, thanks!
Purchased. Great deal.

Yep, missed it when searching. Could've saved myself half an hour comparing prices between Argos, Currys and eBay!

Sorry about that, completely missed it while searching. Wish I'd seen it as would've saved me time.
Sorry for the bad news, only knew as I was looking at them a little while back
Hmmm £112 through work discount, I'm so very tempted!

and your point?
I got the £99 deal last Black Friday but this is the closest I’ve seen to that price since then. Great deal. I love mine. Took a lot for me to get rid of my trusty light strip that I had for close to 5 years but I’m glad I swapped it out for these. I have all three mounted behind my tv and occasionally use the hue sync app on my nvidia shield to get the ambient lighting effect, good but not perfect alternative for anyone who doesn’t want to shell out for the sync box (although I also believe that isn’t perfect also)
steveieboy123/05/2020 17:07

See here. https://lmgtfy.com/?q=philips+sync+box

Wow thanks so much, just what I needed!
Light strips work better behind the TV if it's wall mounted
OOS for delivery :-(
You could just buy an ambilight TV...

You could just buy an ambilight TV...

Ah yes. The cheapest option would only be an additional £250 on top of these lights, plus the labour to remove and replace the current TV which might be a Q9 series Samsung (£2.5k), for example.

Top logic.
I’ve got the ambilight Phillips and I think it’s awesome addition to viewing. So this is a great deal 🏻
Savvy123/05/2020 16:02

So these need a sync box to mimic ambiligjt?

Without something that runs a desktop OS, yes.

So here are your ambilight mimicking options, provided you have some type of Hue light on the back of your screen:

1. Philips Hue Sync box

2. An app that uses Hue protocols and using your phone camera to see the tv screen (this one can have latency issues but it does work. “Hue Dynamic” works for me).

3. Using a desktop OS, connected to your screen, to play your content.

“Philips Hue Sync” is the official desktop application, easy to use and free. But Hue Dynamic desktop, works better for me, but costs money. But both won’t work the Netflix app since it can’t be read. I personally use the desktop application with my Plex, this works fine for me.
Fantastic deal, especially as I can shove it on my Argos card and worry about it later. Been waiting for a good deal on these. 😄 Thanks OP
Usual Argos crap out of stock for the kit with the hub. Terrible retailer.
Do these connect to ambilight TV?
I'm sure this is a dumb question. Just thought I'd ask! Could be handy to extend the effect of the left and right picture
These aren't worth more than £20 each but Phillips has always been mental with hue pricing.

Recession will put some sense into them
Hmmmm this or nanoleaf?
