The keyword here is "Extension" folks. No power supply.

This is ideal for adding to an existing unit but wont work if you don't already have one of these due to the lack of the power supply.

I wondered how on earth this could be an extension.

Personally find this very ugly too
I’d expect / hoping for it to be sub £100 for the triple pack next week..
With these, do you have to load your laptop up and sync every time u want it to work or just once when setting up?

You can just them to a colour or if you want them to change to music/video you have a couple of options. Install the app on a laptop and it will make it sync to music or video as long as played from the laptop (connect the laptop to the TV). There's a good app on Android called HueDynamic. I think the pro version is £5. It will then do the same but using your phone. If you want to use the TV you'll have to use a Chromecast.
Sounds too much hassle

Very much so. Philips have not done a great job. The easiest way to achieve it is just buy a Philips tv with Ambilight. HueDynamic works well if you have a Bluetooth/Wifi speaker and using your phone to control Spotify or something. In my lounge I have 6 Hue ceiling lights and lightstrip. My kids love turning the room into a disco
These are great if you have the bridge and you can use them as normal lights. I don’t bother with the PC, tried it, but I’m not interested in flashing lights.
is the PRICE for single bar ?
