Been after these for ages at a good price - 1/3rd off the standard, and FAQs on Argos confirm that it's the 3rd gen, with Richer Colours.

£74.99 with the code, pick up from store in 4 days is a steal even though it's the older version.

Are you sure? The FAQ claims it is the richer colours version.

Managed to get some £75

I know, but they are wrong, google the part number and see on Philips site. Another giveaway is it states 9w bulbs, Richer colours are 10w. So unless the part number and the 9w spec are both wrong it's not the newer bulbs.

Hmmm, it's weird that they'd be selling the old bulbs though. And the 150 quid rrp is what you'd be paying for the 3rd gen kit on Amazon. Hopefully they've just failed to update the website. And if all else fails we can always complain that they aren't 3rd gen when we pick them up and point to the FAQ saying they should be.

So I just ordered a couple of these from Argos, and used the code HOME25 and got an extra 25% off, bringing it o a total of £75 per set!!

So is it richer colours?

Will this version work with Alexa?

Yes

Thanks realbigchill and groblx...I have want a set for years...now ordered at the right price.:)

I still may hold off to see if the b22 fittings get reduced too.

If you need BC, just get some adaptors like these ones from Ikea for £1!
£1 for 2 x adaptor BC to EC

Drat and double drat - didn't know about the HOME25 code! Still, glad I committed and reserved - as people have said, no stock left anywhere now. No sign of the B22 version, but the adaptors are cheap and plentiful. I'll be slightly annoyed if they aren't the Richer Colours, 3rd edition as advertised - but even at £100 I can't see these going any cheaper. Haven't seen much movement on starter kit prices in recent months.

There was no stock available by 7am, when I checked - so should this be expired?

Pity this isn't the flat type of LED bulb for my ceiling lights.

Picked mine up today and they are Gen 3 (richer colours) Nice!

Just richer colours means nothing. The trick is to check the lamp body. Third gen has a white body NOT silver. White body and golden letters. 3rd gen are also 10watt units and NOT 9watts. Hope this clears things up. BTW I don't think there are B22 or BC type starter packs 3rd Gen yet.

Just picked up mine from Argos and can confirm the bulbs are 3rg gen richer colours, white body & gold lettering and rated 10w.

price is now back up to full.
